✨ Sisterhood is my Oxygen. ✨

I’ve been told I make friends too quickly or invite people in too soon. It’s a trait I now see in my daughter, and her words remind me why: “If I don’t sit with them, who will?” 💕

Let's be honest, some have come and gone because of my openness, but whenever a memory of them pops up, please trust - I pray for them.

Because that’s what sisterhood is: we need each other, we build each other, we correct each other, we help each other, we pray over each other.

To my sisters near, far, on group chats, or strictly social media connections - I love you. May we all breathe deep, joy-filled, oxygen-rich breaths of community, compassion, and connection wherever our light shines.

When is the last time you did something for someone else... and told absolutely no one?

No social media post.
No group chat recap.
No humble brag disguised as gratitude.
No announcement.

Just a quiet act of kindness because it was needed.

I’ve had that question on my heart lately.

Maybe it’s because social media can sometimes make it feel like every moment needs an audience. Every good deed, every accomplishment, every act of generosity is documented, posted, and shared.

But some of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done will never make it to Instagram.

No applause.
No recognition.
No audience.

Just service.

Not because anyone was watching, but because it was the right thing to do.

“I don’t look like what I’ve been through.”

People say that like it’s a compliment.
And for a long time, I agreed.

But lately, I’ve been wondering...
Shouldn’t we start looking like what we’ve been through?

ACCOMPLISHED! BLESSED! or as the comedian Tiffany Haddish said, “SUCCESSFUL”!

After the sleepless nights, sacrifices, planning, setbacks, risks, or the many prayers… The years spent building something that didn’t exist before.

Shouldn’t some of that joy show? 💫

I’m not talking about bragging.
I’m talking about allowing yourself to enjoy the fruit of your labor.

Frennnnn, take the trip. Order the dessert. Buy the thing you’ve been talking yourself out of for six months. Celebrate the milestone. Love on yourself a little.

Not because you’re trying to impress anyone.

Because you were there for every difficult chapter that made this moment possible.

You don’t have to look like your struggle anymore.

It’s okay to start looking like your success.

Welcome to my little corner of Beyonce’s Internet. 🩷

Since I’ve noticed a few new faces around here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I’m Hollis: wife, mom, philanthropist, community leader, professional volunteer 😂, lover of a fabulous outfit, a good trip, and an even better reason to celebrate.

Around here, you’ll see a little bit of everything that makes up my life: family, fashion, friendship, sisterhood, service, philanthropy, travel, community, motherhood, events, and plenty of Passenger Princess journeys along the way. ✨

I care deeply about showing up for the people and organizations I love, creating meaningful experiences, raising a pretty amazing girl, and making room for joy while doing it.

This season of my life is all about being intentional; with my time, my relationships, my service, my style, and the spaces I choose to occupy.

What a beautiful day of purpose, generosity, fellowship, and fashion. 💕✨

I am especially grateful to my guests for their generosity, their presence, and their willingness to say “yes” to us. With so many invitations, worthy causes, and requests for nonprofit support competing for our attention, I never take that “yes” for granted.

Yes, to getting dressed up and having a little fun.
Yes, to fellowship and sisterhood.
But most importantly, YES to supporting our steadfast commitment to scholarship and service for the past 55 years.

We are PRETTY COMMITTED to creating and expanding educational opportunities for our children, and this luncheon was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when community shows up with purpose.

To everyone who attended, donated, supported, shopped, shared, and celebrated with us: thank you. And to my wonderful table guests, I look forward to hosting you again very soon. 🩷

Congratulations to our Chapter President, Fundraising Chairman, Fundraising Co-Chairs, and to all that contributed to the successful effort. Here’s to continuing the work; with purpose, with service, and, of course, with a little PRETTY along the way. 💚💕 by @hollisqueenz

Last night’s Ruby Royale celebrating 40 years of triumphant work by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Bergen/Passaic Chapter.

The room was PACKED with some of my absolute favorites, which clearly means I was on home turf! 🥰

I had every intention of making my way around the entire room, but sadly, I only made it through about half before my glass slipper got a little loose. 😴🫩

A beautiful night of celebration, sisterhood, community and impact…. the perfect way to close out an already impactful day.

Congratulations to the Bergen/Passaic Chapter on 40 years of advocacy, leadership and service.

I’ve had the privilege of sitting on a few very meaningful boards over the years, but this one feels a little different.

Every seat I’ve occupied has been backed by a genuine commitment to the mission and the work. Women’s empowerment. Family building and engagement. Racial justice. Equity for girls.

Community has always been the thread connecting it all.

But this seat brings that commitment a little closer to home.

As a parent, I’ve always believed that being part of a community means more than simply benefiting from it. It means showing up. Asking thoughtful questions. Offering your time and talents. Helping to steward the spaces that are helping to shape your child.

So yes, this one hits a little different. 🐾💙
