Tricky to express how grateful I am to these people for joining me in a concert to raise funds for The Meath Epilepsy. All were incredible and we raised a fat sum! (Even had a humongous picture of Amy watching over me). We’re so grateful to Michael De Navarro for hosting us in his beautiful home, (complete with a 100 seat hall). A great afternoon! taken in Broadway, Worcestershire by @holly_teague

Some of the most beautiful heart-wrenching music can be found in comedies. This aria from Smetana’s ‘The Bartered Bride’ is a perfect example - the plot is as convoluted and silly as you’d expect from a comic opera, but that makes moments like this hit even harder, as the characterisation snaps into something much more real and earnest. 🫠

@holly_teague smashing out one take wonders on our recent Collaborative Day 😎😎😎

Handel's Messiah is a work that classical musicians and singers are used to performing multiple times every Christmas (4 times for me this year!), but last weekend one came along that ticked all of the boxes!
• My amazing partner @holly_teague was the Soprano soloist (the first time we've performed together this year!) ✅
• We performed the seldom-programmed Mozart arrangement, which meant in addition to the traditional line-up, I was also able to book Horns, Flutes, Clarinets and Trombones (plus I had more notes to play on Timpani than usual!) ✅
• The concert took place at the stunning St Davids Cathedral, one of my very favourite venues ✅
• Our parents were all able to make the trip to Pembrokeshire to make a weekend of it ✅

Next weekend we're a bit closer to home, performing Handel's original version (and by chance, sharing the stage once again!). by @holly_teague

Friday night at Attingham Park was epic, conducting the first date of this summer's tour with the Dance Anthems Orchestra!

We were joined by special guest DJ Howard Donald, and singers @georgetebbutt and @marthakirby (a bit of a reunion, as Martha and I previously toured with Bat Out of Hell: The Musical).

We performed a brilliant playlist of tracks curated by Artistic Director @holly_teague, with arrangements by @dr_ows and production by @owengurry (an absolute dream team!).

Special mention to leader James Pattinson, and groove machine @ricelsworth on drums.

Next up we travel to Leeds, for next Friday's show at Harewood House, where we'll be joined by Judge Jules (who I last worked with in the studio 20 years ago!).
