@holly_teague and I had a SUBLIME meal just a few miles from home on Friday evening, thanks to @marcatfraiche. Flavours galore, in a really relaxed setting. Highly recommended.

It’s been a privilege to work with such a talented, dedicated, and wonderful team, and every show was made even more special by the incredible audiences who welcomed us so warmly.
Thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, and helped make this tour so memorable. Here’s to the memories we’ve made. ❤️

Had the most glorious time touring with @scottishopera on the ‘Pop-Up’ opera tour with an amazing team 🎶 28 shows in 3 weeks 🎭

What a pleasure to perform beautiful music with such talented colleagues and share so many laughs, memories, fantastic food and wine! 🍷 🎣 🌊

Some photos from our adventures around the country! The Isle of Mull was a total highlight 🚢

The fun never stops! Rehearsals start for @missymazzoli ‘The Galloping Cure’ next week at @scottishopera 🎠

Some kind words from our recent performances :

’Ross Cumming, on the other hand and as my regular readers will be aware, has been forging a career which it has been my pleasure and privilege to follow for EMR since 2022, through Royal Conservatoire of Scotland productions, as a Scottish Opera Emerging Artist culminating in premiering the role of Roger Penistone in Toby Hession’s ‘A Matter of Misconduct’, the role of Chamberlain in Zemlinsky’s ‘The Dwarf’ in Wexford last year and a super Escamillo in Paisley Opera’s ‘Carmen’ just a fortnight ago.

Particular other highlights were Adina’s aria rejecting Nemorino’s suit and advising him to play the field (as she intends to do), and the Act II barcarolle duet between Adina and Dulcamara. Super.

Ross had a wealth of material in the roles of the eponymous jester, the Count Ceprano whose humiliation Rigoletto mocks and whose curse he thereby incurs, and the assassin Sparafucile.

Both were phenomenal performances of great emotional power and intensity, facial expressions and characterisations were compelling and captivating. Thoroughly excellent. Full marks from me.’ - Edinburgh Music Review

Last weekend I had the pleasure of sharing the stage not only with 7 incredible soloists but quite literally hundreds of amazing musicians and choir members, all led by @joethewaver who created a wonderfully special evening of music in @coventry_cathedral with Mahler’s 8th Symphony.

A massive thank you to Joe Davies and everyone involved (many, many talented people) for an epic Mahler 8!

Nicknamed Symphony of a Thousand because of the vast forces required, Mahler 8 is rarely performed. I'm lucky enough to sing it twice this year. Standing ovation from a full house was the icing on the cake.

Slightly less miles than usual travelled in the last week, but still a busy one, including a concert at City Lit in Holborn with @dameevelynglennie, @holly_teague performing as the lead soprano soloist in Mahler 8 at Coventry Cathedral, a couple of office days in Llangollen, a meeting in Caernarfon, and loads of writing for my upcoming orchestral collaboration with @emelisande - all topped off by an epic roast dinner in Warrington to finish the weekend! Plus the 8-year-old going on her first away day with Brownies, and the 11-year-old going on his final residential of primary school!

Tricky to express how grateful I am to these people for joining me in a concert to raise funds for The Meath Epilepsy. All were incredible and we raised a fat sum! (Even had a humongous picture of Amy watching over me). We’re so grateful to Michael De Navarro for hosting us in his beautiful home, (complete with a 100 seat hall). A great afternoon!
