A little something for everyone. 🤘 We loved welcoming our alumni back to campus and celebrating everything our ensembles have already built — all in just the first month of school. Here’s to many more nights like this one.

We asked, y'all answered. This is what being a Texas Choirs singer actually looks like. 🤘

Tag the singer who lives every single one of these ➡️

Longhorn Big Sing™ is a day of singing, community, and spirit — high schoolers from across the state spend the day with the choral faculty and teaching assistants of the Butler School of Music.

Last year nearly 450 high schoolers filled Bates Hall for it. Students get their music in advance, so the day is all about performing, not sight-reading. Expect:

🎼 Rehearsals on three pieces (SSAA, TTBB, SATB)
🎤 A recital by current UT voice students
🎹 A surprise “Chopsticks” performance by Hook ’Em himself
🎶 A mass-choir finale — all 450 students performing alongside Butler School students

📅 Tuesday, September 15, 2026
📍 Bates Recital Hall
⏰ Register by tomorrow, 9/1, to guarantee a t-shirt!

Five ensembles. One Butler School of Music. From your very first rehearsal to stages like Carnegie Hall and SWACDA — this is what decades of Longhorns singing together sounds like.

Auditioned or not, there's a seat with your name on it.

👉 Drop your ensemble (or the one you're eyeing) in the comments
👉 Tag the friend who needs to audition with you
👉 Share this to your story if you're burnt orange through and through 🎶🧡
