If you can’t go swimming with King Salmon, you can always wear some.
This is my budget-friendly version, knit with thrifted Wool of the Andes yarn. I finished it in time for the start of salmon season here in Alaska. If you look very closely and use a lot of imagination, maybe you can see some fish in the bay.

The King Salmon are coming! And all of the other salmon too. I plan to have this sweater finished before they return to Alaska. I’m hoping salmon numbers are up and all the fisherfolk have a great season.

Sending you love and my sincere hope that you are well. I hope this cheery little Cold Hearts hat will warm your heart and your head. It’s a quick knit and a great intro to colorwork for anyone wanting to give it a try. I used a combo of Malabrigo Rios and Lamb and Kid Tod on this one. It’s unbelievably soft. The dictionary tells me that gnome is a Greek word, meaning to know. In Norse mythology, gnomes are protectors of treasure (perhaps knowledge is treasure?) Therefore, I am knitting gnomes. Also, they are cute.

Seven very fine halibut, all steeked and ready to swim.
This is my very first attempt at a steeked cardigan and it was so much easier than I expected. I’m really happy with the button band and button holes. This is a great pattern, it makes the whole deal a fun challenge. The Cumbria yarn is just the right combination of soft and toothy to make it happen.

We’ve all heard about goat yoga, but how about the downward moose pose? If you ever see such a sight, please keep your distance, moose can be lethal if provoked. For my knitting friends, this was very near the Musk Ox Farm, where you can go squish gorgeous qiviut and maybe buy some, if you win the lottery.
