A year ago, I bought this sketchbook in order to capture my life from “here and now”. Each page contains notes, paintings, postcards, found and collected in layers of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Bishkek, Almaty, Issyk-Kol, Deli, Bangkok, Tbilisi, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, as well as from Switzerland and Sri Lanka.

I have so much life in me, and it’s so strong that I have no right not to share it with you. Nomadic life gives value to every fragment of this book, which becomes my another reminder of how little we have and how much we want.

Набор из полумерных фраз
Наслушался – наговорил в ряду

Толпящихся в иконостас
Моих родных у травмы мужа;
У травмы волевых прикрас,
О том, что никому никто не нужен.

Я понял правду наяву,
И понял – в правде нет намека,
Она ровна и я реву
В лучах ответственности Бога.

Размазано болото, а я нет –
Слюной снимаю с бормашины сажу,
Хрустит гранит сомнения в ответ,
Злых добротой доверие накажет.

Будда, Иешуá, Давид и Магомед -
Я каждого сухой ладонью глажу
По коже девочки, нарушившей обет,
Доверив моим спицам пряжу.

Ты в духе, брат, сестра?
Мы все – мы всё, меня так будоражит
Мой твердый сан, твоя весна,
Я в духе, брат,

Мой прежний «я»
меня вновь не накажет!

The Boy

An imprecise, crystalline way
Shattered hollow instants thin;
Yesterday’s feat of that May
Is locked in pages, sealed within.

Of greenish days in shades of seeds,
Of mother, father, and the Boy,
A living womb of endless fields
Where Dad still breathes in quiet joy.

I chewed with hunger, fierce and blind,
All memo back to primal kin;
A scandal-loving shore of mine
From ash the boy rebuilt again.

I am a demon, crowned with might,
Yet singing hymns of angel grace;
I don’t recall my climb to height,
But better views from higher place.

I am a boy of warmth and stone,
Of feats and flattery’s viscous thread,
Of honored ladies’ sculpted forms
And father’s pride in jawbones set.

It’s not enough to stir my fate —
Me is my destiny on set.
I know I’ll never grasp all yet,
But won’t betray my soul’s estate.

I see it already in real
My palms with ash of vengeance pressed;
I’ll say it plain — no devil’s deal,
Yet walk beside the boy, possessed.
