Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift 🎁

Today I turn 31 with a full heart and a clear mind. Turning 30 last year gave me the space to look back on everything from my 20s, including the blessings, the lessons, and the situations and people who shaped me.

Through all of it, I learned to keep God at the center because I believe nothing happens by chance and everything works out for our good.

So I’m stepping into year 31 with that same faith, and receiving today as the gift that it is.

While my personal birthday wish stays private, my public wish is for everyone to stay present, grateful, and joyful. Whatever you are going through right now, remember there is no rainbow without rain and no testimony without a test. Making it to another birthday is a real blessing, and you deserve to be celebrated.

Appreciate my brother @acraw92 for the surprise 🤞🏽

Grateful for the opportunity to speak at the Sports Major Symposium at Boise State University this week.

Huge thank you to David Hollander and the Sports Major Collective for the invitation and for the conversations around recognizing sport performance and athlete development as a legitimate interdisciplinary academic field. The work being done to rethink how universities study and support athletes is important.

Honored to share the stage with Angela R. Lewis and Beck Roghaar and reflect on our experiences as athletes and practitioners working in sport. I also had the chance to briefly introduce a study @lawofathlete has been developing called Athology. More on that soon. 👀

It was inspiring to be in a room full of people pushing this space forward. This truly feels like an important moment in the evolution of athlete development.

Shout out to Megan Renaldo for being an incredible host, and to Lizzie Holdridge for capturing the moments from the symposium.

And finally, seeing the famous Boise State blue turf in person was a moment in itself.

Looking forward to continuing the work of elevating athletes through education, research, and intentional program design. taken in Boise State University by @honchoholden

Grateful for the opportunity to represent both Law of Athlete ™ and 100 Black Men of America, Inc., of Greater Washington D.C. (on my 30th birthday 🎂) during a powerful conversation on professionalism and authenticity in the workplace.

It was inspiring to see the young men and women of the Collegiate 100 of Howard University lead such a thoughtful and impactful program. The dialogue reminded us that authenticity isn’t a limitation in professional spaces, it’s a strength.

Major shout out to the amazing panelists Mekkah Husamadeen, Joshua Hargrove, and Giniah Moncrieffe for bringing so much insight and honesty to the discussion.

(And yes, excuse the outfit. I was headed straight to the Chris Brown concert right after the panel! 😂)

Thank you to William Webb for the invitation and everyone who helped make this conversation possible. The work continues. taken in Howard University by @honchoholden

I’m honored to receive the Rising Talent Award at this year’s Black Sports Business Symposium. Big thank you to @gregorygibsonjr and the entire @blacksportsbiz team for creating a platform where leaders in our industry can be seen, heard, and empowered to keep pushing culture forward.

To those who nominated me, thank you. That’s not something I take lightly.

Continuing the mission of @lawofathlete hasn’t always been easy, but moments like this remind me it’s all been worth it.

Congrats to all the other award recipients and finalists, it’s been a blessing to build with so many of you. This is just the beginning for us.

And like I shared in my speech:
When your opportunity comes, rise to the occasion. But once you rise, don’t rise alone. The real flex is helping others rise with you.

Let’s keep rising. Together. by @honchoholden
