Op zondag 1 november keert Vliegtuigmodus terug naar @denieuwevorst! Op dit ambient mini-festival staan vier live-acts in intieme setting, zo zie je in de Rode Salon onder andere @honingbeer_

Violiste Marthe Lasthuis aka Honingbeer rekt met behulp van elektronica en een loopstation de grenzen van haar instrument op. Haar klassieke achtergrond klinkt door op haar plaat Opia, verschenen op Frank Wiedemanns label @bigamomusik.

Op deze EP versmelt ze elektronische elementen met minimalistische ambient tot meeslepende, emotionele soundscapes. Eerder was Honingbeer live te zien op Uncloud, LGW? en binnenkort staat ze op November Music.

Op zaterdag 28 november ontdek je tijdens SoundBites Zaterdag nieuwe muziek op verschillende plekken in Den Bosch. Met korte performances van Alina Rov (@alin_a_alinn
), Honingbeer (@honingbeer_) en Doriene Marselje (@doriene_marselje) voert de route je langs uiteenlopende klankwerelden.

Alina Rov brengt live coding naar het podium. Honingbeer creëert als soloproject van violiste Marthe Lasthuis een dromerige electro-akoestische wereld. Doriene Marselje onderzoekt nieuwe composities voor harp en Buchla-synthesizer.

On Saturday, November 28, discover new music at different locations throughout ’s-Hertogenbosch. With short performances by Alina Rov, Honingbeer and Doriene Marselje, the route takes you through a range of distinctive sonic worlds.

🌬️ My Villa Lena adventure came to an end. I’m heading home truly inspired, fulfilled and so grateful for this special experience. Also nostalgic just already, leaving the beautiful place and dear people behind.

I came to Villa Lena to find a new direction, by following my deep intuition and create without limitations and full of trust, without getting my mind in it too much. I ended up recording quite a lot of tunes that orientate around my acoustic sound, by detuning my violin and looking for all its subtlety and the overtones and harmonics it has to offer. Less electronics, more imperfections, rawness, rest and music that is foremost pretty human and natural. I look forward to sharing it when the time feels right.
Simultaneously I am also finishing my first full length album, that is filled with effects/electro acoustics (and will play this music live quite a bit during fall, tba)

Oh how I will miss this 💛 thank you so much @bigamomusik and @villalenafoundation taken in VILLA LENA Tuscany by @honingbeer_

Honingbeer is the solo project of experimental violinist Marthe Lasthuis. She extends and bends violin with electronics. Honingbeer gifts us never just a vibe or melody to match a mood. Much more, her compositions require listeners to submerge – and reemerge elsewhere. With atmospheric, melancholy layerings, she lures listeners into a primordial place and time; a clearing in the forest singing, a vibration of the heart.

Halfway my residency at @villalenafoundation 🌼 I’m working very intuitively on new material, more minimalistic than ever before. I’m also taking time to work on acoustic material and play a lot with overtones. This August, we welcome a new cohort of residents, bringing together practices across writing, sound, fibre, music, sculpture and movement.

@anastasiia_fedorova is a London-based writer, curator and researcher, author of “Second Skin: Inside the Worlds of Fetish, Kink and Deviant Desire.” She leads Writing Pleasure, a workshop on writing rooted in the body and everyday joy.

@cuno_ is a Berlin-based cultural strategist and sound curator. He leads L’Ascolto, a listening session built around a single record played start to finish.

@ea.g is a London-based fibre artist working across fibre, installation and painting, questioning the line between art and craft. Her workshops include paper weaving and group abstract painting.

@honingbeer_ is the solo project of experimental violinist Marthe Lasthuis, blending violin with electronics and ambient influence. She joins us through our residency partnership with Bigamo Musik, performing live during her stay.

@sallyvonrosen is a Berlin-based sculptor and performance artist working with hybrid, archaic-futuristic forms.

Joining us for a mini residency from August 13, @sisseholstpedersen is a Copenhagen-based artist exploring functionality, sensory perception and our relationship with the natural world. Her workshops include handbuilding with clay and making a teabowl.

@_ease_ease_ease is this month’s Yogi in Residence, blending sound, movement and restorative practice.
