Bigamo Musik & Villa Lena Celebration. An intimate weekend of music among friends 26-29 November in a very special and beautiful place in Tuscany

This year my label BIGAMO Musik became the music residency partner of @villalenafoundation . Since spring, the Foundation has opened its studios to six BIGAMO musicians and performers. They have lived and worked there among the olive groves: Vinson Fraley, Martina Berther, Mario Scarton, Honingbeer, Al Pagoda and Jeannel.

To celebrate this first chapter together, everyone is gathering at Villa Lena from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November for live sets on the estate from BIGAMO artists and this year’s residents, with me, Sebastian Mullaert, Jeannel, Al Pagoda and Bi-Disc on the lineup and more to be announced.

On Friday evening it’s into Florence for Palazzo Strozzi’s twentieth anniversary celebration, where Sebastian Mullaert & I play live for the museum’s friends and all attendees of our first joint Bigamo Musik Villa Lena Celebration.

Op zondag 1 november keert Vliegtuigmodus terug naar @denieuwevorst! Op dit ambient mini-festival staan vier live-acts in intieme setting, zo zie je in de Rode Salon onder andere @honingbeer_

Violiste Marthe Lasthuis aka Honingbeer rekt met behulp van elektronica en een loopstation de grenzen van haar instrument op. Haar klassieke achtergrond klinkt door op haar plaat Opia, verschenen op Frank Wiedemanns label @bigamomusik.

Op deze EP versmelt ze elektronische elementen met minimalistische ambient tot meeslepende, emotionele soundscapes. Eerder was Honingbeer live te zien op Uncloud, LGW? en binnenkort staat ze op November Music.

Op zaterdag 28 november ontdek je tijdens SoundBites Zaterdag nieuwe muziek op verschillende plekken in Den Bosch. Met korte performances van Alina Rov (@alin_a_alinn
), Honingbeer (@honingbeer_) en Doriene Marselje (@doriene_marselje) voert de route je langs uiteenlopende klankwerelden.

Alina Rov brengt live coding naar het podium. Honingbeer creëert als soloproject van violiste Marthe Lasthuis een dromerige electro-akoestische wereld. Doriene Marselje onderzoekt nieuwe composities voor harp en Buchla-synthesizer.

Drie makers, verschillende muzikale werelden en één route door de stad.

On Saturday, November 28, discover new music at different locations throughout ’s-Hertogenbosch. With short performances by Alina Rov, Honingbeer and Doriene Marselje, the route takes you through a range of distinctive sonic worlds.

Na een goede summer break zijn we terug met een bomvol najaarsprogramma! Over een paar dagen gaat ons gloednieuwe gebouw open en we hebben enorm veel zin om weer mooie programma’s te beleven.

Deze week beginnen we met Democratie, Tot Het Pijn Doet en de Situation Room, en tijdens de Housewarming volgende week presenteren we ons nieuwe gebouw. In oktober openen we de herfst met @seizoenszine en presenteert @docilebodiesband haar nieuwe album Rest.

In november keert Vliegtuigmodus terug naar @denieuwevorst, kun je nieuwe werk van @arkconnorschumacher verwachten en is het tijd voor het jaarlijkse Short Film Festival, gepresenteerd door @merakifilmclub

Thank you @villalenafoundation for my big Tuscan summer filled with beauty ❤️ I spent 5 weeks not only writing, but also mapping future projects, thinking of future books and discovering (sometimes unexpected) things about my writing style and ways I work. It will have a huge impact on what kind of writer I am, and for that I am very grateful. And thank you @ea.g @cuno_ @honingbeer_ @sallyvonrosen @sisseholstpedersen @_ease_ease_ease for being the absolute best residency buddies 🥰❤️❤️

So beyond grateful for being part of @villalenafoundation residency this year! ✨
Waking up with the sole plan for the day being writing, and then writing some more, but also listening to trees and looking at the light, and growing impatient and frustrated with the writing, sitting with discomfort, figuring some things out, figuring some more things out, feeling how different types of writing feel different in the body, and then some more writing. All the little things that are so instrumental for creativity but that are so hard to find time for within the usual day-to-day routine.

Also, eating. The pool. Randomly seeing the solar eclipse? Long runs where I worry about dropping my airpods into the most beautiful landscape. And the people, omg ❤️❤️❤️

Honingbeer is the solo project of experimental violinist Marthe Lasthuis. She extends and bends violin with electronics. Honingbeer gifts us never just a vibe or melody to match a mood. Much more, her compositions require listeners to submerge – and reemerge elsewhere. With atmospheric, melancholy layerings, she lures listeners into a primordial place and time; a clearing in the forest singing, a vibration of the heart.
