Welcome to the City of Sydney 🤝

There’s a lot of overdone tropes when it comes to the harbour city so I wanted to show her from a different perspective. Anyone who knows Sydney will recognise some of this imagery. It’s a strange town but whether you love it or hate it, it’s home.

Some of you might remember I created a series of flash sheets a while back. I recently revisited them, pulled out all the bits I liked most and combined them into a mega flash sheet.

I've been wanting to release some wall prints for a while now so I decided to get these made into A2-sized fine art giclée prints. Will have a handful available by end of the week, stay tuned 😎 taken in Sydney, Australia by @horusk

I always find it hard to know when to stop with the sketching and composition phase.

I guess it’s just procrastination because inking the linework feels like you need to start committing to forms.

But once you start, it's always hella fun. Now it feels like the drawing’s begun in earnest.

Been working on a new piece as of late. It’s still a bit of a hot mess right now but I’ve finished up the concept sketching phase. Will be inking the linework next.

Had to pull up a lot of reference images and do a little homework to construct and compose this one so we’ll see how it turns out. I’ll keep ya’s posted. Lots of love as always x taken in Sydney, Australia by @horusk

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who’s copped a City of Sydney tee over the last few weeks. I had a lot of fun bringing this project to life and I’m grateful that some of you enjoy it too and have taken it out into the world!

I’ve only got one tee remaining in S, M, L and XL. I only do a single print run for each artwork so if you’d like to get in on a little slice of Horusk history, there’s no better time than now. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. The link to my webstore is in my bio.

This project started as a half-baked sketch last July and eventually took on a life of its own. No client brief, no deadlines, no budget constraints - just pure exploration and fun. Instead of aiming for a goal or a destination, I just let go and allowed the project to lead me. As a result, it’s ended up being one of my most ambitious pieces to date. I’m stoked to finally be able to share it with you.
