Akari _Foyer area

We wanted the foyer to feel like a part of the home, rather than just a space you walk through.
The brick glass gives us that bit of separation while still letting the spaces flow into each other.

The hand-painted ceiling adds character, and the onyx and travertine light, along with the brass details, bring in just the right amount of warmth. Each detail has its own place, but together, they make the space feel cohesive.
It all comes together quite naturally, with little details that you notice as you spend time in the space.

Akari — meaning light in Japanese.

The name felt fitting for a home defined by lightness — in its palette, its forms, its textures, and most importantly, the natural light that moves through the spaces.

Akari came together through a series of small ideas, each finding its place in a different corner of the home. From the furniture and lighting to the walls, textures and little details, every element was thought through to belong to a larger story, while still giving each space its own character.

And somewhere between the first drawing and the finished space, there is a lot of labour that goes unseen — choosing, changing, detailing, sampling, making, fixing and sometimes starting over. It is probably one of the things we love most about designing a home: watching all those little decisions eventually come together and feel like they were always meant to be there.

This is Akari.

Taking a straightforward layout and giving it a little more dimension.

Levels, curves and different spaces within the room came together to create a kids’ bedroom that feels playful without being overly themed.

Here’s the concept

This is where the kitchen starts to feel real.

From the initial sketch and moodboard to the 3D renders — putting together all the little decisions that make up the space.

Warm tones, layered textures and a kitchen designed to feel like a part of the home, rather than just a functional space.

Swipe through to see it come together.

Another home. Another mood.

A first look at a 4,500 sq. ft. villa in the making.

The moodboards set the direction — the tones, textures, materials and little details that will eventually come together as one home.

A few moodboards. A few WIP glimpses. And a space slowly beginning to look like the idea we had in mind.

More to come from this one.

The spatial language takes cues from the delicate forms and intricate craftsmanship of the jewellery.
Curved elements introduce softness and movement, allowing the architecture to complement rather than compete with the pieces, creating a setting that feels cohesive and considered.

It all started with a blank floor plate, with a vision to explore a softer, more fluid spatial language.

To counter the existing boxy geometry, curves were introduced throughout — from the meandering floor inlay and organically shaped display counters to sculptural shelving and gently contoured spaces. These fluid gestures create a natural visual flow while subtly echoing the delicate craftsmanship of the jewellery.

A dual-tone palette of moody greens and warm neutrals defines the space, creating subtle zoning without conventional partitions. Textures paired with fluted wood, brushed metallic accents and layered lighting, bring depth, warmth and understated luxury to the interiors.

The result is an intimate retail experience where movement feels effortless and the jewellery remains at the heart of the space.

Every element has a purpose.

The curves.
The materials.
The lighting.
The pauses in between.

Nothing is there to fill space.
Everything is there to shape the experience.

We spent more time thinking about how this space feels than how it looks.

Good retail design isn’t about adding more.

It’s about removing everything that distracts.

What remains is clarity -in form, in material, and in experience.Every surface, proportion, and transition was designed to quietly frame the jewellery, creating a space that feels intuitive, calm, and timeless.
