Arham, a jewellery retail space in Bangalore designed by @house_of_nihu , unfolds as a refined exploration of movement and materiality. Conceived within a bare rectangular shell, the design responds to its rigid framework by introducing a softer, more fluid spatial language. The intervention is subtle yet transformative, where curves gently dissolve the linearity of the original volume, setting the tone for an experience that feels intuitive, graceful, and immersive. A continuous spatial rhythm is established through a meandering inlay that guides visitors through the store, complemented by organically shaped display counters, sculptural shelving, and delicately contoured enclosures. This fluid vocabulary not only enhances circulation but also mirrors the finesse and craftsmanship of the jewellery on display. The store is further articulated through a nuanced dual-tone palette, where a deep, moody green anchors one section while warm neutral tones soften and balance the overall environment. This interplay of colour enables spatial zoning without the need for physical partitions, maintaining both cohesion and clarity. Materiality plays a defining role in shaping the store’s identity. Walls finished in a tactile Dune Halo texture lend depth and warmth, while terrazzo-like Lithos Dazzle surfaces introduce subtle speckling, enriching the visual experience of the display counters. Fluted wooden bases, brushed metallic accents, and softly illuminated shelving come together in a layered composition that feels both contemporary and timeless. Carefully calibrated lighting, combining ambient, accent, and track fixtures, ensures each jewellery piece is highlighted with precision while preserving a serene, intimate ambience. The result is a thoughtfully crafted retail environment where spatial fluidity, material richness, and quiet luxury converge seamlessly.

Sukha, designed by @house_of_nihu , is a 1,050 sq. ft. sanctuary in Bangalore that celebrates the beauty of subtlety, intention, and soul. Principal designers Monika Jain and Chukki Jangid transformed this modest apartment into a retreat rooted in Wabi-Sabi sensitivity and contemporary simplicity. The design embraces a "quiet luxury" philosophy—eschewing the excessive for a palette of earthy tones, soft curves, and natural grains that invite a slower pace of life. Highlights include a textured living room wall anchored by a custom poplin pendant lamp and cane-textured kitchen shutters that lend a rhythmic, natural warmth. The master bedroom introduces tactile depth with a rich terracotta fabric wall, while the kids’ room features a clever step-up platform that seamlessly integrates the bed and wardrobe. Throughout Sukha, every detail is intentional, from the sculptural pendant lights to the cultural touch of Indian-inspired wallpaper. It is a home that doesn't shout; it whispers comfort and clarity. Set within a modest 1,050 sq. ft. apartment in Bangalore, Sukha is a home conceived with restraint, warmth, and quiet intention. Designed by Monika Jain and Chukki Jangid, principal designers at @house_of_nihu , the residence reflects the family’s preference for spaces that feel gentle, lived-in, and timeless. Rooted in earthy hues and soft finishes, the interiors balance Wabi-Sabi sensitivity with contemporary simplicity, creating a home that welcomes without spectacle. From the moment one steps inside, Sukha reveals itself as a place of calm clarity, where every choice is deliberate and nothing competes for attention. Follow @homepublication for more. . Photography : @cathecaptures Styling : @navroopra__studio . The design brief was refreshingly minimal: nothing loud, nothing dramatic, and nothing that would feel dated with time. This philosophy manifests in a palette of layered neutrals accented by subtle textures that age gracefully. Curves soften transitions between spaces, allowing natural warmth to flow effortlessly throughout the home. In the open living and dining area, a textured wall grounds the space, while wooden accents and handcrafted details quietly take centre stage. A custom pendant lamp in off-white poplin edged in black emerges as a restrained focal point, offering contrast without overpowering the room. Material continuity lends the home its unhurried rhythm. Cane textures appear across the kitchen shutters, centre table, and crockery unit, reinforcing a sense of organic ease. The master bedroom deepens this warmth with a terracotta fabric feature wall, paired with a sculptural pendant and restrained black detailing. The foyer introduces a cultural layer through wallpaper inspired by Indian craft, while the children’s room embraces playfulness through gentle curves, a step-up platform integrating the bed and wardrobe, and a custom wallpaper that sparks imagination. Throughout Sukha, the design encourages slow mornings, warm light, and moments of pause, resulting in a home that feels intuitively right, both visually and emotionally.

*INSIDE TIHG* #TheIdealHomes This Bengaluru apartment by @house_of_nihu balances contemporary design with subtle references to the past. Clean lines, soft curves, and a neutral palette shape the core layout, while Channapatna bead partitions, marmarino walls, and wainscoting add quiet texture and detail. The spatial plan supports both openness and function, tailored for a resident who often hosts his parents. Furniture and materials are selected for form and utility—travertine, teak, cane, boucle—creating distinct zones without visual clutter. From a dedicated nook for travel photography to a vibrant kitchen and adaptable third bedroom, the home reflects a layered but restrained design approach, where every element serves a purpose.
