Bit of personal news ✨ and I feel nervous about sharing this as being Mrs D has been the biggest part of my life. I’m not shutting the door on teaching for good, but for now I’m excited to focus on just one thing.
I’ll be running more DIY workshops and classes, taking my book on the road by visiting you and your homes and making more online tutorials. And also being a more present Mom and Wife!
Teachers and support staff… you work so incredibly hard and I have so much respect for you all. For now, I’m tapping out. Big love x

It HAD to be stripes! Part 4 and I’ve wallpapered in this beautiful textured stripe, finished the windows and the built in bookcase / desk is planned! What do you think? Laura x

I love that you’re here for decor, DIY and housey bits! 🙋‍♀️
Imagine a big social where we all went for a coffee, a trip to Homesense, came back and we all did DIY together before going out for a cocktail a dance and home for 10? Houseproject residential anyone?! 🤭🤭

The trickiest paint colour! 😲 progress has been slow this week! The testers were too pink so I got Max’s shirt scanned in B&Q.
Now this could have been edited to just show a quick before and after, but so many of you empathised on stories I thought I’d just show you the mid-coat fear! Would you have stuck with it?
I then painted and painted until I now have the bed nook and woodwork all wrapped in this rich claret (but let’s call it burgundy to be trendy).
Next up: wallpaper, built in desk hack, furniture and some serious sporty styling!

Part 4 coming soon! I need a rest first!

Hills I will die on! I love this trend, scroll away and ask me anything! More details below ⬇️

2) your home, your rules! You have to love it!

3) I went from making the tea to doing the work. There was no good time to start, I wasn’t ready. But I started small and built up to bigger projects. I mean seriously, I didn’t even trust myself to roller a wall before… the change has been huge for me!

4) AD My Book Nailed It, is for DIY beginners and for anyone looking for tips, tutorials and ideas. It’s broken down into sections allowing you to build up your confidence and knowledge at the same time! It currently has 28% off at Amazon for a few more days! The sale ends soon though! ⚡️

5) DIY, FBMP freebies and shop bought newbies all mix together

6) I might redecorate twice in 3 years but rock the same pair of jeans for a decade.

7) little updates with tester pots and offcuts of fabric can reinvent old frames

8) bobbin balls are amazing! Buy them in the same diameter of the frame you want to attach them to for a sleeker look or go XL to transform the shape of the frame.

9) if you don’t like that chrome tap or white radiator, you can just paint it! There is a paint for that! Full tutorials in my book too 😉

10) my home looks better than me

11) the Billy bookcase is the perfect starting point - prep it correctly and it’ll look amazing!

12) don’t keep on at it if you’re getting frustrated. Pause, brew, biscuit >> try again later

13) sometimes it’s not a named style, it’s just things you like

14) personally I’m not one for whimsy prints. But a stripe 👌(sneak peek of my bedroom makeover part 4!)

15) you wouldn’t pick up a tennis racquet and expect to ace a serve. It’s the same with a drill. Practice, take time, go slow.

16) as someone making content for 5 years now, it’s highlights and selected bits and bobs. There’s dust, snags and piles of stuff launched in the corner for tidy photos.

The end!
Please ask me anything fam! And, if you made it through that and you don’t already follow, you probably should 😆

Have a super Sunday xx

Part Two and I am HURTING! Let me know what colour you would choose from the options at the end!
Details:
I’ve added wrap-over shiplap panelling on the walls and ceiling using 6mm MDF cut into 20cm wide planks from @bandq_uk.
I adjusted the length using a @ryobitoolsuk circular saw.

Concealed the joins at the ceiling and corners with architrave and quadrant moulding and framed the window.

Before using a game-changing caulking gun from @ryobitoolsuk (PR product) which made the job I loathe quick and easy!

Next up paint and wallpaper! 🎨

IKEA Hack to hide the Hoover 🙌
I already had the ASKHOLMEN plant box, but with a little modifying, the robot vac can now hide underneath it. The no sew bench seat means the kids can use it as a seat.. and there’s still enough space for storage!💕

Do you have a robot vacuum? If so, has it got a name and fixed abode? Ask me about it! Laura x

FLAT PACK with curves in the right places, just landed in-store! @bm_stores take a bow! 👏 . But if you can *not* sell out the tv cabinet until I’ve managed to find one, that would be much appreciated! 🤭 This collection is called SEVILLE btw x
