Had a blast directing the Rockland all county jazz band last weekend! They pulled off some hard music with only 5 hours of rehearsal time. Super proud of them and hope to be back in NY soon. And special thanks to @andy.dill.7 for getting me out here!!

2026 Jazz Aid Fund awardee Howi Dietz graduated from University of North Texas, performing with the Grammy-nominated One O'Clock Lab Band. He won the 2016 Saxophone Idol competition and, most recently, his first-place finish at the Carinthian International Jazz Award led to performances throughout Austria. Head into the weekend with a clip from Howi’s SJZ-commissioned “Dream Strut” and learn more about the Jazz Aid Fund initiative at sanjosejazz.org/jaf. by @howidietz

Time to post past sends! Here's a little long solo on the soulive tune - cannonball. Had a blast sitting in with the @huneyknuckles back about 2 Christmases ago, hence the santa hat 🎅
