Last June, Haileybury Chamber Choir recorded an album in the beautiful chapel at the school. Today (at last!), this album is released.

There’s a whole variety of music on there, including @joannamarshcomposer Thou hast searched me, Finzi’s Lo, the full final sacrifice and two commissions by Jeffrey Rowlands.

This album was the result of a three year project to transform choral music at Haileybury with @simonbland_ . I could not be more proud of this group of singers, and to share this album with everyone. Out now on all streaming platforms. by @hugh.rowlands

I’ll be Acting Director of Music at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University during the Easter Term. In a weird full circle moment, my first service with the choir is at Westminster Abbey tomorrow evening at 5 pm.

Here’s some archive evidence that I conduct, wore a cassock, and also play the organ.

This evening I’ll be giving a recital to celebrate the launch of this new CD. It will take place in Haileybury Chapel at 7:30 pm, and will include Matthew Martin’s ‘Triptych’, as well as Bach’s immense ‘Passacaglia’.

I made a recording of the Klais organ at Haileybury earlier this year, and now, it’s here! It’s currently just out as a CD but will be released later this year on streaming. Thank you to Lucy Barker for the amazing design of the booklet. And to @mbennettproductions and @filoclassical for their work on it. Also of course to @simonbland_ for everything, as usual. If you would like more info, or even to buy a copy(!), please DM me. by @hugh.rowlands
