In March we were invited by @sunnybankmills to do something for their Print Festival 2026.

Using DIY sticker making techniques, we built a sticker board through photo layering and image construction. We used an abundance of photographs from the NASA archive, which ended up being quite timely - a month later, NASA sent Artemis II out into space! 🚀

By the end of the day we had a pretty full sticker board, built from the creations of everyone who passed by the table on the day!

A big thank you goes to @jfosterart for supporting us on the day (and for taking these brilliant b&w photographs on his neat digicam!), to @annasunnybank for the kind invite to bring the workshop and library to life, and to the SBM team on the day for being the kindness and most supportive people! Especially after a couple of technical hitches 🤐

Would you like us to deliver a workshop at your print fair, organisation, get together, fundraiser, or event? We’d love to hear from you, so please get in touch! 📞 taken in Sunny Bank Mills by @hullzinelibrary

Back in October we headed over to @groundgallery to lead our Zine Study Group, as part of their Zine Fair #3 📚

Using scanned image and text collages as a way to create stickers, we made a collective concertina zine (pic 2!). We missed @emily_fratson on the day, but Emily helped us to frame the study questions and the thinking around ordering, image sequencing, and how we could collectively make something on the page. A big warm thank you to Emily!

Everyone went away with a strip of the sticker they’d made! We’ll have a copy or two of the zine in our library soon enough, but in the meantime, a big thank you to Ground for having us and everyone who came by to study, make, and chat! 🫶 by @hullzinelibrary

On Saturday you’ll find us at @groundgallery running a study group as part of Zine Fair #3!

With @emily_fratson we’ll be diving into sequencing and visual language using found images and words! Stick with us (🤪) and you’ll leave with a fun set of stickers!

You’ll also get a copy of the accordion zine we’ll make during the study group sent to you in the post a little later on ✉️

See ya there at Ground at 2pm on Saturday 11th October! 👋

Emily Fratson is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is underpinned by drawing, which serves as a foundation for explorations across a range of mediums, including ceramics, photography, and textiles. Her work is often characterised by stylised mark making, flattened forms, and the use of symbolism. She use’s these symbols as a way to rephrase existing language and visual vocabularies, inviting reflection and reinterpretation.

So nice to see 2 zines in @hullzinelibrary @makerspacehull that I made or was involved with. If you look close one is the collaged postcard “It wouldn’t be what it was if it was something that could last” and the other the bright pink and blue GAZE. The postcard one was made in 2020 in response to pandemic and its emotional impacts. GAZE was created by lots of feminists using a Riso machine led by @amandarigbydesign and @wearepaperrhino to support expression and response to exclusion.

The zines are on the top floor of Hull central library and are free to access. The maker space is an amazing resource with super helpful and friendly staff who love making things and helping people access expensive and complicated equipment or try things out taken in MakerspaceHull by @hullzinelibrary
