New Ambassador Alert! We are delighted to welcome Dr. Evelyn Coleman to the Vet Space Ireland team.

Evelyn is a vet from Cork. She graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest in 2018 and began her career in mixed practice in the beautiful coastal region of Pembrokeshire, Wales.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Evelyn returned home to Ireland and joined Riverview Vets in Cork, a busy mixed practice. Her time there cemented her love of community-focused veterinary care and the variety of mixed practice life.

She later joined Sunbeam Veterinary Hospital, where she spent two and a half years providing out of hours emergency care before founding her own locum business, Vet Relief, where she worked across the country in many different settings gaining experience on how to operate a small business as well as being able to slot in to any new team.

Evelyn now works with Home Vet Care, offering home visits that allow for calm, compassionate, and personalised care for pets in the comfort of their own homes.

Evelyn has a particular interest in ECC, nutrition and wellbeing for vets. She’s also passionate about making work life balance easier and more fun for vets.

Evelyn will be sharing her experiences in practice and her perspectives on communication, wellbeing, and connection within the profession here on Vet Space Ireland.

Please make her feel welcome 😎

She came into my life like a tiny unhinged hurricane, all limbs, no sense, and absolutely wild. There were times when I didn’t think I was able to give her the home she needed. She was destructive, chaotic, feral. I genuinely wasn’t sure I could keep her.

But something changed. Slowly. She became easier. Calmer. She grew into herself. She has this incredible sense of self; confident, affectionate, brave, a bit nutty. Watching her grow into that has been one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed.

She’s still semi-feral. Still a bit of a maniac. But somehow, she’s also the gentlest, most wonderful dog I’ve ever met. And I’m obsessed. #jenny4legs by @humanevelyn
