Stole another one from the YouTube to share here, in lieu of recent appearances. Song is “All the same/Blind” from a solo acoustic set back in December 2006 @ Sanctuary Cafe in Gilroy, CA.

I don’t get to do this much anymore. This was August 2008 and I “stole” it from @cafelift

The timestamp on this video is 12:30 a.m., so my volume had to be real low (you might even hear petunia snoring), but with two kids it’s often the only chance I get to reconnect with my ritual. This particular night last October I captured a moment I didn’t intend to share. I’ve carried this song for a while now, some of my OG’s might know, but as much as I loved it I never really wanted to sing it. Not actually meaning it.

Today is 15 years since my brother Isaac Pichardo left us. I try to keep it to myself to not bring anybody down, but now I think I don’t talk about him enough. Death is a part of life, and I don’t need to stop grieving to keep on living.

Now I want to share it as is because, as I tell my kids, it’s the moment. Not the performance (looking at you, AI!).

To my “Best Part”.

I tried this a bit ago, but I didn’t realize until recently the clip cuts off. I had set up my little corner and wanted to honor 11 years (last month) married to my Best Part with one of my favorite songs. Alas, we moved, and a full take does not exist. However, I was recently reminded to tell the people you love that you love them while you have them. So, sharing the incomplete clip, which at least fittingly cuts off after “where you go I’ll follow no matter how far.” ;) by @humanself
