Opening a restaurant is a crazy thing to do. After years of planning, construction, creating menus, and obsessing over every detail, we opened @hummrestaurant last week, and I could not be more proud of this space and this team.⁠

To everyone who had a hand in creating this restaurant and to all those who have joined us at the table, thank you. I don't have the words to express my gratitude. ❤️⁠

Meet our Executive Chef, Dmitri Magi! Originally from Estonia, Chef Dmitri joined the team at @elevenmadisonpark in 2011, where he rose from line cook to Chef de Cuisine, helping EMP secure the top spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2017. Two years later, he relocated to London to serve as the Executive Chef at Davies and Brook before returning to New York to become a Managing Partner of Daniel Humm Hospitality, overseeing the opening of @theclementebar and kitchen operations at @hummxcharlestonplace.

We’re so thrilled to have him back in the city leading our team and so we’re able to celebrate his birthday in person (which just so happens to be today). Join us in wishing him a very happy birthday. ❤️
