“2025: The Year of Me (and loved ones 😊)

Stepped away from the grind to explore the world (15 countries including Singapore ) with the people who matter most. Traveling, laughing, and making memories with family and friends has been the ultimate reset button for my soul 🌍✈️ All of these wouldn’t happen without the exclusive invites from certain friends so thank you and I really appreciate.

First meal in Osaka was at @rivi.osaka , a restaurant that innovatively blends modern Japanese cuisine with Western culinary influences, particularly Italian and French.

The ever-evolving prix fixe menu emphasizes seasonal ingredients and artistic presentation. To my surprise, following a recent renovation, the seating has been reduced from 14 to six. When I asked about this change, Chef Tadayoshi Yamada explained that he operates as a one-man show ( and hence would like to focus on a more intimate experience for the diner ) It’s clear that, like many chefs, he cooks out of a deep love for his craft.

As in my previous visits, several dishes stood out for their taste and originality. The corn soufflé impressed with its light, airy texture and a delightful interplay of sweet and savory flavors from the corn.

I also enjoyed the well cooked pasta, complemented with the fresh, earthy notes of broad beans, and tasty bits of Hamo ( conger eel ) & breadcrumbs.

And the price is just as appealing—10,000 yen for a 10-course lunch.

☀️Duck
Osaka local" KAWACHI" duck
duck rillettes are pureed and then sandwiched between baked sable dough kneaded with onions, then topped with grilled and dried leek powder. The Kawachi duck is a local specialty of Matsubara City,in the southern area of Osaka a World Hertage site in Osaka

☀️Takoyaki
Octopus in a Zeppolini, dough sphere with nori seaweed

☀️Pork
pork bun dried shiitake moshrooms, & pork paste simmered in beef stock & Madeira wine then wrapped in perilla leaf and smoked in cherry blossom chips.

☀️Corn Soufflé
A stock from the cob,husk,and silk of corn is extracted , baked with corn puree , and then covered in an espuma and finished with dried corn & soy sauce powder.

☀️Conger eel
Hamo( Conger eel) & broad bean pasta with breadcrumbs

☀️Beef
Roasted fillet of Shimanto “Kurogewagyu" from Kochi Prefecture with Hokkaido organic Asparagus sauteed in butter, yuzu pepper & Madeira wine sauce.

☀️Rice
Grilled unagi on Sasasgugure rice cooked with chicken stock, fresh ginger.Japanese parsley, Chinese pepper & fresh ginger.
served with Akita smoked radish

Extremely grateful to bestie Val for the all expenses paid trip to the absolutely beautiful lake como for the Chanel cruise collection show. I had a wonderful 3 days where I was treated like a vip and also blessed by perfect weather . Where food were prepared by 3* Michelin chefs and so much good wine and champagne to drink . Even found myself in the celebrity area where Hollywood stars u normally only see on screen are right beside you .
Glad to know people and make friends along the way .

As I’m enjoying as a person who rarely go to such high end events. I can’t help but to think about people who actually go to event and people that actually belong to such event . I myself will know I’m only here because I was a plus one . I won’t dare to say I belong to the vip and won’t act like I’m anywhere near the standard of one . What’s the point of lying and trying so hard to put on yourself in a place that you don’t fit .begging for invites then turning up telling people you are there by your own merit when it can’t be further from the truth . Just to create a facade that you are someone up there. And hurting a lot of people along the way . I really don’t understand what is the point.

Sometimes life throws you a curveball in a good way. A person like me who normally doesn’t dress up and knows nothing about fashion ends up in a high end fashion show overseas. Dear baby gizmo .
Thank you for entering my life 18 years ago together. Accompanied me from when I was a young adult till I’m a middle aged man . A little fighter that fought off 3 cancers . Now it’s time for you to rest .
3 years ago when dr say you had cancer . And nothing much they could do . Every moment with you from then on to me was like stolen .
