Fish Camp has been a major pillar in my time at Texas A&M. It first showed me the traditions of this school and why A&M was so special to be at. I learned it was much more than that. Fish Camp could be a community, a lifelong string of memories, or even a family.

My first time as a Counselor in @everythingschlegel showed me how people with similar values can create an environment where everyone feels welcome to be themselves, regardless of how different they are from one another.

My second time as a Counselor in @schlathergang showed me the type of leadership it takes to bring a group of people together to create a community. It also taught me that every single person deserves a great Fish Camp experience that shows the love A&M has for its students and how important Fish Camp is for every incoming freshman.

Session C chairs, y’all have been a family and a group of support that I could count on for anything, whether it was a hangout or a random text or call. We have all become really close, and I could not have asked for anything better during my last year at Fish Camp.

To my perfect 24 counselors, y’all taught me so much from your life experiences, the way you look at things, the way you conduct yourselves, and the way you have a burning passion for Fish Camp. Y’all have impacted me and taught me so many lessons that I am so thankful for. Just know that I’m here for you, rooting you on during your highest highs or your lowest lows.

Finally, to Ainsley, you are the goat. We had so many similar values that made this experience so easy because we both agreed on what our Camp would look like. You’ve become one of my best friends during this experience. Who would’ve thought that a conversation in the MSC and on Fortnite would have such a great impact on so many amazing people.

Fish Camp, I am forever in your debt for all the great people you brought into my life and for the memories. Thank you, God, for this opportunity! taken in Fish Camp at Lakeview by @hunter.keelen
