forever grateful to have been able to lead in the organization that has been my home in college. it’s given me the best memories, friends i’ll have for the rest of my life and experiences I’ll never forget!

I have struggled writing this because it means the most meaningful experience I have ever been apart of is coming to an end. The last 3 years of being in @tamufishcamp have brought me my best friends and the best memories of my life! I can never thank this organization enough for the impact it has made on me!

To @livelaughlugo , thank you for showing me what it was like to be loved by others, just how fun TAMU can be, and for bringing me my first home in college!🩵

To @dont.kyllonen.my.vibe , thank you for showing me how rewarding pouring into others is and the impact I could make by just being myself while growing me as a leader!💜

To @dropitlikeitscobb , My proudest achievement. These last few months have been the best of my life thanks to all of you. There are no words to describe how proud I am of each of you and the impact you not only made on the freshmen, but on me. Going into chair, I constantly thought about what I wanted camp to look like. I couldn’t have dreamed a better camp than all of you. Thank you for giving me some of the best memories of my life. I love y’all forever and will never stop being your friend!💜

To my perfect partner @heyitskatebarclay , From the first time I met you, I knew how special you were! There is nobody else I would have rather lead camp beside. You made every challenge and experience fun by being yourself and showing me what leadership looks like. There is no better example of a Fish Camp chair, or anyone who embodies the values and mission of Fish Camp more than you. I am so thankful I got to share this experience with you, and in the process, find one of my best friends. Thank you for letting me know! We definitely got what we gave!

To @session.cinema , I never expected just how much of an impact you would make on me! I found a family in each of you and have watched all of you pour your heart and soul into your camps! Thank you @_erinholmes_ for picking me and my best friends, and for creating this family! Armadillo mode on!

All I can say is thank you @tamufishcamp

Just over 3 years ago I went to fish camp as a freshman not knowing the path it would set me on. Now, I’m here with a full heart and teary eyes as I have said my final goodbye to Lakeview.

With that goodbye, I realized it was never about the place, but the people I was with. Over these last 3 years, I have met hundreds of people, and each of them changed me for the better. The people in this post along with dozens more that aren’t, will be in my life for as long as I live. I may not get to go back to Lakeview, but I know my people are still by my side. It’s genuinely hard to put into words what y’all have done for me, so I’ll just say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This summer I got the incredible opportunity to go out for fish camp again. I learned a few things and here they are:
- Crabs do in fact pinch people
- When a grill leaks it’s probably condensation not grease
- I am a beach volleyball try hard
- Jumping world is a great place to play hide and seek
- New opportunities = new best friends
- Different isn’t bad, it’s just a new perspective
Thank you Camp Rees for everything, you were exactly what I needed when I needed it.
