i go to nature to remember that i am nature

to watch the water flow until i am fluidity,
to sit on stone until i find my stillness, strength,
to see the caterpillars crawl until i feel my faith,
to hear birdsong until i remember
that i too am free,
that i too have voice
and songs to sing.

i touch the earth to remember that i am,
and i honor earth as i honor myself.

clouds covered totality, but i didn't think we'd even get this glimpse! jakob and i got close to a total solar eclipse in oregon, 2017 but getting to experience true daytime darkness today was unreal!
