Familiar Strangers. A multifaceted Poland 49 Nord 6 Est - Frac Lorraine, Metz Curators Joanna Warsza, Fanny Gonella, Sophie Potelon 11 September 2026 - 14 February 2027 Frac Lorraine opened its newly renovated spaces and started a new season of its exhibition program in September. The event featured a performance by Ewa Partum, whose work is included in the group exhibition “Familiar Strangers.” The exhibition challenges the myth of a homogeneous national narrative and reveals the differences that make up every culture's multifaceted nature, in this case, specifically Polish culture. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the rich diversity of Poland’s many cultures and to explore their connections to Lorraine. Photos by Arnaud Hussenot and Fred Dott by @huntkastner

Well, this is me doing that, because by now I’m not sure what really happened and what my cold-medication-fuelled mind made up. In my dream, aka yesterday, it’s finally the big day: HK’s long-awaited birthday party. I arrive a little late, already slightly tipsy, with a mix of emotions that hasn’t really left me since the pandemic: mild horror at the prospect of social anxiety and tedious small talk, and a tender, joyful anticipation of hugs, laughs, and deep conversations about this never-ending existential crisis we call the 21st century. by @huntkastner

this was a true joy, and a humbling, beautiful experience: being invited to curate the 20th anniversary show of our dearest friends at @huntkastner. one of our first shows curated together was a goodbye show at our flat when we moved out of prague, way back in… 2016? who remembers. it was filled with hunt kastner artists. now, ten years later, we got to celebrate a truly transformative gallery with all of them, together with the wonderful camille hunt, kacha kastner and their great team. so happy to have been there with all of you, and with all the friends and colleagues of the gallery, from prague and all over. we can’t list everyone here, but you’re all in our hearts. thank you ♡ @huntkastner @evaslaba @akotzmann @anna.hulacova @basim.magdy @pitindaniel @_dominik_lang @dominikadobias_ @evakotatkova @ewa_partum @igorhosnedl @janserych @jirkaskala25 @thynjiri @josef_bolf @klarahosnedlova @selmecikockajusko @particip.tv @viktorkopasz @zbynekbaladran #jaromirnovotny #michaelathelenova #olgakarlikova #janmancuska #daliborchatrny photos by: @jankolsky @shotby.us & others by @huntkastner

🍽️ In this work called Feast I’m building on my previous painting „Commedia dell’arte“🃏, where the audience consisting of men in power is watching stories that are essentially ridiculing them. 🙇🏽 This painting depicts the situation after the show where the artist (that one who was performing these men in Commedia) feels like a puppet🪆 Found himself on the Feast with beefsteak tomatoes, where influential men settle their egos.✨ He probably managed to get closer to the world that his art itself criticize and became part of it. 🍅🍅🍅🍅 Currently on display As a part of 20th anniversary group show A Whole Different Animal at @huntkastner Feast 150 x 104 cm Acrylic on canvas Beech frame 📸 @tomas_carl_allen by @huntkastner

🦅 How can we deal sometimes with intense feelings that get out of our hands? 🤲 This question gave life to story about an old, tired woman. As she didn’t know how to go on and needed to find a way to come to terms with what was happening. She was living in the wood and decided to set off to find her way back to herself. Suddenly in one of the cold mornings a dark raven appeared and hit again.🐦‍⬛ But this time, it followed her, disturbed her and didn’t give her a moment’s respite. 🫯 Unable to understand the essence of raven’s telling, it crossed her mind that it may not be an enemy, but an important part of individuality of woods she choosed to live in.🪞 It occurred to her that she should rather observe and learn from him as a form of a guide for understanding her journey across. 🌌 We don’t know yet how the story will end. But we can be sure she is still in the woods. 🪾🪾🪾 Nigredo, 68 x 78 cm, acrylic on canvas 📸 @lova_ryga by @huntkastner
