Monster Chetwynd's Halloween Party at Shedhalle 🌑👻 Friday, 30 October 2026 From 7 pm | The Cars That Ate Paris Peter Weir's 1974 cult film is playing: a small town called Paris, where visitors tend to arrive by accident and somehow never quite leave. No need to stay seated until the end. Drop in, watch the cars devour Paris, grab a drink, wander through the exhibition, or put on a costume. All at once is also an option. 9 pm – midnight | Halloween Party & DJ Set Then the night takes a strange turn. A few small rooms, some questionable medical procedures, and the possibility of coming out looking a little different. Sonja Fury is behind the bar pouring pitch-black prosecco and other drinks of uncertain origin, while DJ Frank plays tunes best heard after dark, until midnight. Mind the road on your way out of Paris. With artist Monster Chetwynd, bar by Sonja Fury, music by DJ Frank With artist Monster Chetwynd, bar by Sonja Fury, music by DJ Frank by @l.auraamann
hellenalgia, vol. 1: exhausted, opening night no event photographer this time. instead we asked anna moreno, one of the artists in the show, to shoot the opening on her old nikon coolpix from the 2000s. somewhere in the evening the camera started travelling from hand to hand, so we’re not quite sure who took what. it began with anna and ended up as everyone’s. the pictures are blurry, flashed-out, slightly off: less a record of the show than of the room, the people, the light. a fitting format for an exhibition about longing for a past that never quite looked the way we remember it. we might keep doing this: asking the artists to document our events, on whatever strange camera they bring. 📷 anna moreno & whoever caught it next by @l.auraamann
this was a true joy, and a humbling, beautiful experience: being invited to curate the 20th anniversary show of our dearest friends at @huntkastner. one of our first shows curated together was a goodbye show at our flat when we moved out of prague, way back in… 2016? who remembers. it was filled with hunt kastner artists. now, ten years later, we got to celebrate a truly transformative gallery with all of them, together with the wonderful camille hunt, kacha kastner and their great team. so happy to have been there with all of you, and with all the friends and colleagues of the gallery, from prague and all over. we can’t list everyone here, but you’re all in our hearts. thank you ♡ @huntkastner @evaslaba @akotzmann @anna.hulacova @basim.magdy @pitindaniel @_dominik_lang @dominikadobias_ @evakotatkova @ewa_partum @igorhosnedl @janserych @jirkaskala25 @thynjiri @josef_bolf @klarahosnedlova @selmecikockajusko @particip.tv @viktorkopasz @zbynekbaladran #jaromirnovotny #michaelathelenova #olgakarlikova #janmancuska #daliborchatrny photos by: @jankolsky @shotby.us & others by @l.auraamann

Shedhalle “Hellenalgia, Vol. 1: Exhausted” Opening 21. October 2026 / Show Dates 22. October – 22. November Introducing the artists… Kazuko Miyamoto, born in Tokyo and based in New York since the 1960s, assisted Sol LeWitt while building her own practice. Her string constructions stretch cotton string between industrial nails, carrying Minimalism’s line into space. A member of A.I.R. Gallery, she later founded Gallery Onetwentyeight. @exilegram Anna Moreno, working between Barcelona and The Hague, builds moving-image installations, montages and speculative fictions around a society’s picture of its own future. She returns to historical moments that never quite finished: modern aspirations still standing, and still inhabited. @aa_oeo Basyma Saad, artist and writer born in Beirut and trained in architecture, works across film, performance, sculpture, essays and fiction. With dark humour and close attention to forms of struggle, her work turns to mourning, spontaneity and surplus. @basyyyma Erwin Thorn, Viennese artist active from the late 1950s, took the canvas apart from its frame outwards, letting painting become relief, sculpture and conceptual work. White was a beginning for him, not an end. He called his stance Anlehnung und Distanz: leaning on and holding apart at once. #ErwinThorn @lombardi_kargl Albert Welti, Zürich-born painter and etcher of the Symbolist generation, moved in Arnold Böcklin’s orbit and filled Swiss landscapes with centaurs and dreams. His Landsgemeinde mural for the Federal Palace in Bern was completed by others after his death in 1912. #AlbertWelti @stadtzh Curated by Jen Kratochvil @jen_kratochvil & Laura Amann Marín @l.auraamann Curatorial Assistant: Lola Knechtel Subirós @loolaaaa__ Graphic Design by @day.shift.office Generously supported by @stadtzh With sincere thanks to Kunstsammlung Stadt Zürich for the loans of Albert Welti. by @l.auraamann
Shedhalle “Hellenalgia, Vol. 1: Exhausted” Opening 21. October 2026 / Show Dates 22. October – 22. November Introducing the artists… Madison Bycroft, born in Adelaide and based in Marseille, works across performance, film and sculpture. Bycroft returns the monster to its older meaning: monstrum, a sign to be read rather than a deviation to be corrected. Opacity and illegibility become methods, not failures. @madisonbycroft Pietro Cappelli, painter of the late Italian Baroque, built Rome out of ruins: arches holding up nothing but sky, and statues keeping watch over buildings that had already stopped working. Antiquity was exhausted long before we got to it. #PietroCappelli @stadtzh Zuzanna Czebatul, born in Międzyrzecz and based in Berlin, is a sculptor who reads power through its décor. Placing archaic and contemporary forms side by side, she draws out what monuments, ornament and the architecture of political change have in common, and what they would rather keep apart. @zzzzccczzzz Honoré Daumier, caricaturist of nineteenth-century Paris, spent decades puncturing authority in the pages of Le Charivari. In Histoire ancienne (1841–43) he marched Homer’s heroes straight into the bourgeois parlour. #HonoreDaumier @stadtzh Klaus Lutz, born in St. Gallen and living in New York from the early 1990s, built his own apparatus to make 16mm films starring himself. He projected them onto the walls and objects of his apartment and peopled them with mythological figures and Esperanto. #KlausLutz Curated by Jen Kratochvil @jen_kratochvil & Laura Amann Marín @l.auraamann Curatorial Assistant: Lola Knechtel Subirós @loolaaaa__ Graphic Design by @day.shift.office Generously supported by @stadtzh With sincere thanks to Kunstsammlung Stadt Zürich for the loans of Pietro Cappelli and Honoré Daumier. by @l.auraamann

Different animals in the jungle of the art world. Coming together to hug everyone and sing happy birthday might not be the traditional serious art vibe, but the times are changing, new animals on the block bring new habits, time is passing, sentiment and hints of nostalgia growing, new voices with fresh eyes and ears coming in to turn everything upside down before realizing someone did that already. 20 years is a blink of an eye. 20 years is really something. Especially in the former east, in the now so-called central-eastern europe; especially for a private gallery here. 20 artists represented by the gallery, along with some long-term friends and current or former colleagues, present their works composed into a scenography of a celebration. There are parties and there are parties… Join us for this one, whether you remember the first show 20 years ago or this is your first time around at Hunt Kastner. Let´s give our heartfelt congrats together." LAM, jk photos by Jan Kolský by @l.auraamann
Last days to see “Chorós: Speaking All at Once / Alle zugleich” at Shedhalle, on view until 20 September! 🧜🏼‍♀️🏛️ In its final days, the Chorós continues to speak as one, letting its many voices sound simultaneously — in unison and in dissonance, in agreement and in argument, without collapsing into a single message. During Lange Nacht, the exhibition extended into a walkthrough, a reading by Alice Speller @tradwifi from The Cult of Hermaphroditus, and a DJ set with @ananda.jadee. Chorós artists and contributors: Levin Stettler Brogli, Benjamin Egger, Christian Falsnaes, Juliana Gleeson, Ji-Yoon Han, Aziza Harmel & Alice Speller, Johanna Hedva, Barbara Kapusta, Ingo Niermann, Aaiún Nin, Ruth Novaczek, Simon(e) van Saarloos, Maja Smrekar, Sráč Sam, Miriam Stoney. 📷Photos: Valerie Geissbühler Pacheco @valelelellelle #shedhalle #Chorós #ContemporaryArt #ZurichArt #exhibition by @l.auraamann
