SchoolMessenger Communicate is currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple school boards.
Families can continue to report student absences using the PowerSchool SafeArrival phone reporting option. Attendance updates in PowerSchool continue to function normally; however, online absence reporting is currently impacted.

Schools are temporarily unable to send messages through SchoolMessenger Communicate while the vendor works to restore service.

Until service is restored, families are encouraged to visit the HWDSB website and follow HWDSB on Instagram and Facebook for updates about this issue and other important school and board information that would normally be shared through SchoolMessenger.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. by @hwdsb

Lawfield Elementary School is 400 trees richer this fall!!!

Over 200 students, teachers, parents, volunteers, and Green Venture staff spent an incredible 7 hours digging holes, getting dirty, and planting a greener future for one of Hamilton’s schools.

Here is what makes the new forest so special:

Biodiversity: We planted 32 different native species!
Local Heritage: Most trees are from the Carolinian forest family.

Smart Selection: Species were chosen based on local forest remnants, featuring a beautiful oak-hickory mix.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their energy, shovels, and smiles to make this happen. And thanks Lawfield for making our City a whole lot greener!

Funding for this project was graciously provided by Green Communities Canada and Trees for Life. Additional trees are supported by Trees for Hamilton.

A huge thank you also to @mid.mtn for coming out on this day to capture the process!
