I wanted to sign up for this acro yoga retreat for 4 years, but there was always something that didn’t align: timing, location, finances etc. This year I finally committed to gift myself this one week of adventure to disconnect, relax, have fun and learn something new.

What I didn’t expect was that I would be having one of the best times of my life during this retreat.
1. The location was breathtaking, in a beautiful valley, in nature, surrounded by gorgeous hills, @monte_orada_portugal is a special place to be. You can feel how the owners put their heart and soul in maintaining this place and preserving its authenticity.
2. The food was incredible. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, everything was delicious, healthy and well balanced.
3. The people! I am so grateful to have met this incredible group. Everyone had their own story. We shared, we laughed, we created special bonds, we learned to trust each other. Thank you all for making this week so special! 🙏
4. The acro yoga and morning yoga sessions. The movement, the balance, trusting your base and flying, learning all these new super cool acro poses. I felt like a child again. It allowed me to be fully myself and forget about all the worries of the world. Thank you @moderntarzan, @domdoesyoga and @swellstate.visuals for making this possible!

My heart is full, and so grateful for all these beautiful experiences I had. Can’t wait to sign up for next year!

One more in the books ✅
After doing two Hyrox singles pro races in the past few months, I did my first open last weekend in New York. Apart from the running obstacles (people walking in the fast lane), it was a great venue! The open weights definitely felt a lot easier and it left me with enough energy to do 100 unbroken wall balls (which made me so happy) 🥳😁
It was a super fun experience and so glad I got to do it with @monicharli and @jenna_razzz 🫶
Congratulations to each of your achievements! First singles race for @monicharli with an amazing finish time and @jenna_razzz pushing through despite the fatigue, lack of sleep, and having done a doubles race the day before and still crushing it with a great time! 💪🙌

HYROX Miami Beach - Spectator’s Edition 📣

Finally recapping an amazing weekend in Miami where I got to cheer on and support these strong beautiful women 💛

The FOMO was veryyyy real but it was so exciting (and exhausting) running around the Miami convention center watching these ladies race their hearts out. SO incredibly proud of you both 🙌🏼💕 Can’t wait for the next one!!

What a weekend! Our first women’s doubles pro race together with @tinkyg.2. We didn’t know what to expect, but one thing we knew was that we were going to fight through the uncomfortable. I loved every minute of this race! We worked so effortlessly together as a team, didn’t need to talk much to understand each other. So proud of how we executed this race 🙏
It was also a huge change for me from the singles pro race to be able to breathe finally during the stations. This was definitely a lot more enjoyable experience 😄

Can’t wait to train harder and get better for the next one! 🙌

It has been just about 45 days since I completed my first ever full marathon in Miami. Unfortunately, I cannot say that it has been a fun experience. It was a precious learning experience for sure, and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but it was not a “fun” one. It was painful, merciless, and beautiful at the same time.

It is true, the second part is the hardest. For me, it started around mile 17 and stayed with me until the finish line. Despite proper fueling and hydration, my body wanted to give up. I had to fight myself step by step, minute by minute, to keep going.

That fight against yourself is brutal. It feels never-ending. Time slows down, the miles don’t accumulate as fast anymore. Now you’re in constant survival mode, ready to stop at any second. But your mind won’t let you. It keeps pulling you forward. That willpower to finish.
You are long past your target time, but you cannot give up. You switch into robot mode and keep going.

First you tell yourself, never again. But then a few days pass, the pain fades along with the bad memories, and the beauty of the run stays. And you start thinking… maybe you will do it again. Just one more time…

————————————

Special thanks to @marcos.athlete for all the help in preparing me for the marathon. Thank you for all the guidance and long discussions trying to convince me why zone 2 is so important 😂 I know I didn’t make it easy, but I really appreciate all your help! 🙏
