Public access, meet public space.

When Iowa City’s Public Access Television lost funding in 2019, the future looked bleak for community media.

That is, until video-loving community members stepped up.

Public Space One, a local nonprofit, agreed to become the new home for equipment, providing creators with access to video and audio gear and resources.

Their Media Arts Co-op now is home to 150 members, who make short documentaries, experimental films, music, community stories, and more.

Catch their work at a local screening of the Iowa City Video Zine, or tune in via YouTube!
