Some of my favourite full frames from Monte Rosa.

Three full days above 3,000m — sleeping in high-alpine huts, moving across endless glaciers, climbing through brutal cold and thin air, surrounded by some of the most dramatic landscapes I’ve ever experienced.

This is exactly why I carry a camera into places where every extra gram matters. Some experiences are simply too wild not to capture. taken in Monte Rosa Massif by @i_justpressabutton

I sat down with @nollaig_butler on the banks of a lake in North Wales and asked him about his relationship with fishing.

He told me about growing up on the water, following his father wherever he went, standing on the riverbank watching him cast. Rain or shine, fishing was the one true religion in their household.

He spoke about how, like many kids, he lost that connection as he got older. The things our parents loved didn’t feel cool anymore. But years later, he picked up the fly rod that had been collecting dust and started casting again.

Since then, he’s spent countless hours on rivers, lakes, and remote places searching for the perfect spots — but he realised he was never really searching for a fish.

He was searching for the same feeling he found as a child.

And as Nollaig told me…

“It was never about the fish.”
