He found me on TikTok and said he had to get a cut by me. 💈 Then he told me he manifested this hair just so he could finally sit in my chair. The best part? He looked at me and said, “Do whatever you want… it’s just hair. It’ll grow back.” 🤝🔥

That’s the kind of trust every barber appreciates. I’ll let the transformation speak for itself. Would you trust me with your next cut?

His grandson booked him a little birthday self-care… because TODAY he turns 94 years young! 🎂🥳

Yesterday I had the honor of getting him birthday ready with a fresh bald head shave and beard trim. 💈

94 years of life, wisdom and memories—and still getting fresh. 🙌🏾

Help me wish him a HAPPY 94TH BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎈🎂

He got hit by a car while walking through a crosswalk and spent TWO MONTHS in the hospital. 🙏🏾

His brother lives in Chicago, found me on Google, and told him he needed to come see me here in Houston. 💈

He wanted to keep his hair and wear braids on top, so I told him to get it braided first and then come back so I could finish the look.

A fresh mid taper later… and the transformation was complete. 🔥

Sometimes it’s bigger than a haircut. Glad I could be a small part of his comeback. 🙏🏾

He wanted to be Sisqó for Halloween… but the blonde had OTHER plans! 😭😂

My client tried bleaching his own hair to pull off the Sisqó look, and let’s just say things didn’t go according to plan! 💀🤣

He came straight to my chair for an emergency buzz cut! ✂️💈

Sometimes you just gotta take the L and start OVER! 😂

Would y’all have tried to save it or buzzed it all off? 👀👇🏾

I CHALLENGED MY WIFE TO DO WHAT?! 😂💈❤️

So today I decided to put my wife to the test! I challenged her to wash and retwist my locs, knowing good and well she had NEVER done a loc retwist a day in her life! 😭😂

Now y’all know I’m a barber, so trusting somebody with MY hair is a whole different story! 🤣

But listen… she understood the assignment! 👏🏾🔥 From the wash to the parts to the final retwist, I can’t even lie… SHE DID HER THING! 😮‍💨❤️

Might have just found myself a personal loctician! 😂

Be honest, y’all… how did she do for her FIRST TIME?! 👀👇🏾

$65 for a haircut is too expensive?
Yet clients book, come back, refer their friends, and leave 5-star reviews. 💈

$125 for a transformation is too much?
The right client understands they’re not paying for “just a haircut.” They’re paying for the time, detail, consultation, service and transformation.

I’m too strict about cancellations and no-shows?
My time is part of what I sell. An empty chair from a last-minute cancellation is time I can’t get back.

I don’t offer every service or try to accommodate everybody?
Correct. Because everybody isn’t my client.

One of the biggest things barbering has taught me is this:

I DON’T NEED EVERYBODY IN MY CHAIR. I NEED MY PEOPLE.

The clients who value quality.
The clients who respect my time.
The clients who appreciate the experience.
The clients who come back.
The clients who tell somebody else about me.

I’m not lowering my prices every time somebody thinks I charge too much.
I’m not changing my standards to get every booking.
And I’m not trying to be the barber for everybody.

I’m building Blendz by Jenn for the clientele that sees the value in what I bring to the chair. 💈

Find your people.
Serve them well.
Stay consistent.
Keep getting better.

And let everybody else watch. 😎💈

A haircut can open doors you never expected.

Started the day with a 3-mile walk with my wife. Then one of my clients invited us to a coffee & vinyl event. Later that evening, another client invited us to an African baby shower.

This is what happens when you focus on serving people instead of just cutting hair. Over time, clients become relationships… and relationships become community.

Grateful for every person who’s trusted me enough to invite me into moments that matter.

Houston has been showing us a lot of love. ❤️

Between long days behind the chair and chasing big goals, it’s important to make time for the people who matter most. ❤️

Date night with my favorite person. Good food, good conversation, and a reminder to enjoy the journey while building the dream.

Tomorrow it’s back to the fades. Date Night, just us. ❤️

Sometimes you gotta slow down and reconnect with the people who knew you before the business, before the social media, and before all the responsibilities.

My wife and I flew to Atlanta, grabbed some good food, I got cleaned up, and we drove down to South Georgia for our family reunion.

48 hours wasn’t enough, but I’m grateful for every minute of it. ❤️

Back to Houston and back to work. 💈
