We are officially recruiting for October, and we are bringing a completely different, intense energy to the space this time around. 🩸👀

On Thursday, October 22nd, Canvas Creative Collective presents: Canvas Mic Murderers.

This is a full horror-themed showcase, and we are looking for the poets, singers, and storytellers who are ready to come bleed their hearts out on the stage and leave the microphone in pieces. 🪓🔥 Everyone pulling up is heavily encouraged to come dressed in their favorite horror movie fit—whether you're channeling Freddy, Jason, Jeepers Creepers, or playing the classic final girl.

🎭 WANT TO PERFORM?
If you’ve got a story, a song, or a poem that brings that raw, heavy heat, DM me at @iamambersims to lock in your slot before they’re gone. DFW talent has been packing the roster fast, so don't wait on this one!

Save the date, get your costumes ready, and let's go crazy. 👁️🖤

FREE VERSE

Had to drop some rhymes a little differently for this one. Let me know if you remember the struggle of sharing the PC line in the 90s. This was definitely a different moment for me.The lyricist inside the poet. I have someone to introduce you too.

STAY TUNED 📺👀

I’m still sitting with how special that first night was, and honestly, I can’t wait to do it again. 🤎✨

We are officially three weeks away from our next night together on Thursday, September 24th, and the roster for "Sounds of September" is already completely full.

The talent in DFW really didn't play around with the slots. This month, we have a really beautiful blend of poets and singers stepping up to the microphone. I’m so grateful to the artists who are trusting Canvas with their voices, their stories, and their music.

Whether you're coming out to hear some good poetry, catch some live vocals, or just want to be around good people and good energy, there’s a spot for you in the room.

🚪 Doors open at 8:00 PM

Just a few pics from the Canvas Mic tonight. Everyone did really well @trejavu11 killed as usual as the feature & his spontaneous collab w/@mycreativechase was really cool. @sundaethegriot is a beast on the mic & should be booked on all performance art shows! The crowd was really cool & super supportive too :-) & even though I felt terrible I was proud I could still get enough across through my pieces that people still connected w/them 😊 Thanks @iamambersims for putting this on & letting me be a part of it 🙏
