Does anyone else ever feel like they’re suffering from complete life overload? 😅

I run two businesses.

One is a social media management business, where I’m managing a portfolio of clients, creating content, keeping up with what’s happening online AND now promoting the Creative Content Method that I’ve spent the last couple of years creating.

Then there’s About the Town.

A community organisation. A coffee shop. An art studio. A magazine. Social media. Funding bids. Project design. Project delivery. Reporting. Partnerships. People. Problems. Ideas.

And that’s just work 🤯

Then there’s actual life 😅

Being a mum to a 14-year-old who needs me. Navigating difficult situations. Relationships. Money. Family. Friends. Appointments. Plans. The normal stuff everybody else is carrying too.

And then there’s all the extra information that comes at you every single day.

“Have you seen this?”
“You should come to this.”
“Can you get involved with this?”
“There’s an event you’d love.”
“Can I pick your brain?”
“Could you just…?”

And the frustrating thing is, quite often I AM interested.

I would love to go.
I would love to help.
I would love to be involved.

My brain just doesn’t have anywhere left to put it 😂

I think that’s the bit people don’t always see. Sometimes when I have to say no it isn’t because I don’t care.

Not replying immediately doesn’t mean someone isn’t important to me.

Not seeing a friend for months doesn’t mean I don’t love them.

Sometimes I’m genuinely just trying to manage the sheer amount of information, responsibility and expectation already competing for space in my head. And I definitely carry guilt about that.

I want to be a good mum.
A good friend.
Good at my job.
Present for the people I love.
Available to my community.
Open to opportunities.
And somehow still have an actual life myself.

But there are only so many things one brain can hold at once.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who sometimes feels like they need to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE on their own head? 😂

I was absolutely bricking it this morning 😂

Today was the first day of #HashtagGirls, a project I’ve been working on for literally years (again something else that took me ages to find the balls to do 😅)

Despite all the planning and preparation, I woke up worrying about absolutely EVERYTHING 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

What if the girls didn’t enjoy it? What if they didn’t engage? What if it just wasn’t good enough?

I think that’s what happens when you’re doing something that genuinely means something to you, you want so desperately to get it right 🖤

But today was brilliant 🙌🏼

Watching the girls open up, get involved and create some really meaningful work reminded me exactly why I wanted to do this in the first place.

This project isn’t just about these girls learning from us, it’s actually about us learning from them too, because they’re the ones living it.

They’re growing up in a world where social media, comparison culture and online pressures are part of everyday life. Where the risks of grooming, stalking, self-harm and poor mental health are very real.

We can read the research and look at the statistics, but these girls can tell us what growing up in that world actually feels like.

And I think that’s where the real value of this project lies. Giving them the space to be heard, helping them recognise their own worth and equipping them with the confidence and knowledge to support themselves and each other.

The impact won’t end with the girls in that room, what they learn can be shared with their friends, their peers and other girls who might need it, and the fact they’re creating themselves a printed publication is the icing on the cake.

It’s one girl empowering another, and I’m so hear for it ❤️

3 more sessions to go and I genuinely can’t wait to see what these girls create.

Today reminded me that sometimes the things that scare you the most are the things most worth doing 🥹

Something happened recently that genuinely baffled me.

Someone saw a photo of me saved on someone else’s phone. Not just a random picture either, a very specific holiday photo that was buried amongst loads of others on my profile… you’d have to actually swipe through to find it.

At first I couldn’t work out why that picture.

Then it clicked.

I’d used AI to sharpen the background because it was a gorgeous holiday photo 🏝️💗✈️ and, in doing that, it had distorted my face slightly. Nothing most people would even notice… unless you were really looking. Scrutinising. Picking apart.

And I’ll be honest, the thought of another person potentially sitting analysing my face looking for something to laugh at made me feel a bit shit.

Not because I think I’m perfect. God knows I’m not 😂

But because women already have enough thrown at us without doing it to each other.

I completely understand curiosity. I think most of us would be lying if we said we’d never checked out “the ex” 😅

But here’s the bit I think we sometimes forget:

You are not competing.

That relationship ended.

She isn’t standing in the way of yours.

More to the point, the woman before you doesn’t need dragging down for you to feel secure in the place you have now.

I’m pretty confident most of the time, but I’m still human. Being picked apart doesn’t suddenly feel nice just because you’re strong enough to handle it.

So maybe this is just a little reminder from one woman to another:

Look if you’re curious. We all do it. 😂

But don’t look for flaws just to make yourself feel bigger.

Don’t turn another woman’s face, body or life into entertainment.

And definitely don’t teach our daughters that another woman needs tearing apart for us to feel good about ourselves.

There’s room for all of us 🖤 by @iambevr

Imagine hating on me while I’m out here teaching young girls they don’t need to hate on each other. The irony 😂

Helping girls build confidence, know their worth and realise another girl’s shine takes absolutely nothing away from their own.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to earn my money, do something meaningful and build a life I’m happy in. That takes enough energy without giving any more to people trying to make it harder.

So my filter is pretty simple now: is this making me money, making me happy or improving my health?

No? Then the bullshit can carry on without me. I’ve got girls to hype up and bills to pay. 🖤 by @iambevr

AI content is not the problem.

Shit content is.

There. I said it 😂

I am so bored of seeing people absolutely rip the shit out of businesses online because they’ve spotted that something was made using AI 🤦🏼‍♀️

Apparently that now makes you some sort of creative fraud.

Give over.

I run two businesses. I create a ridiculous amount of content every single day. I write, design, plan, manage, edit, market, organise and make some pretty tough decisions.

So believe it or not, I prioritise 😱

If something is strategically important, needs my expertise, affects revenue, funding, reputation or the direction of the business, then it gets my brain, my time and my energy.

If I need a quick edit on an image to make look better, or a poster telling people we’ve got a little play area for under 3’s, or if I need to create an offer for a cheese toastie?

I’m probably not cancelling half my working day to lovingly edit or hand-design it from scratch just so somebody on the internet can applaud my skills 🤣

I’ll use the tools available to me.

That isn’t laziness or being shit at marketing, that’s resource management.

AI is a tool. Just like Canva is a tool. Just like spellcheck is a tool. Just like scheduling software is a tool.

And for small business owners, charities, CICs and people who do not have a marketing department, graphic designer, photographer, copywriter and admin team sitting behind them, it can be so useful!

The skill is knowing where you still need to show up, understanding what your actual skills are and learning how your time is best spent.

I don’t think we should be shaming people for using technology to bridge a skills gap, save time or run their business more efficiently.

Especially when most of us are already doing the job of about six people.

Use AI. Just be smart with it and don’t outsource the bit that makes your business yours 👏 by @iambevr

You weren’t given the idea, the talent or the slightly unhinged urge to create something just to keep it to yourself 😂

Use it. Build with it. Make money from it. Help people with it. Let it take you somewhere.

In business and in life, hiding what you’re good at helps absolutely nobody.

This is your reminder to share your bloody gifts!!

Turns out confidence doesn’t always come before you do the thing, sometimes it comes because you finally did it.

That’s pretty much how anything I’ve achieved in my life has become real, because apparently one of my hobbies is having a really good idea and then spending an unreasonable amount of time convincing myself I’m not quite ready to do anything with it 😂

I think we all do it at some point.

We tell ourselves we need more time, more knowledge, more confidence, a quieter month, a better plan, when sometimes we’re actually just scared to find out whether the thing we care about will work.

I definitely did that with The Community Content Method™. It took me more than two years to finally put it out there 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

Some of that time was genuinely needed, but most of it was also me overthinking the absolute sh*t out of it 😂

But I got there… woohoo 🙌🏼

And I think that’s what’s actually worth celebrating.

Not because I created a course, but that I eventually backed myself enough to let people see it.

Do you ever stop and think… my life is actually really f**king good?

Probably not that often tbf. We spend so much time focusing on what’s going wrong, we forget to clock everything that’s actually gone right.

The last few months have been a bit of a shitshow in places… but I’ve still laughed, travelled, created projects, courses, magazines… the lot 🤣. I’ve said yes, made memories and spent time with people I love.

Somewhere along this mad journey called life, I’ve managed to build a life 20-year-old me would’ve thought was impossible.

Life can definitely feel hard at times, but it can still be really f**king good too when you focus on the right things 🖤

Sometimes we call it procrastination when really, we’re just trying to work up the courage to do the thing that scares us.

I’ve been talking about creating this course for more than two years. And over those two years I have found approximately 738 very convincing reasons why now wasn’t quite the right time 😂

Something needed changing.
I needed to learn something else first.
The tech felt too complicated.
I didn’t have enough time to do it properly.
Maybe nobody would want it anyway.

And, to be fair to myself, some of those things were completely valid.

I have been running businesses, publishing magazines, managing clients, delivering community projects, being a single mum and generally living with about 47 tabs permanently open in my brain.

But if I’m being completely truthful, some of it was also fear. Because there is a really big difference between knowing you’re good at something and putting that knowledge into the world and asking other people to believe you’re good at it too.

We hear “just go for it” all the time, but sometimes going for it doesn’t look like one massive brave leap.

Sometimes it looks like taking two years to become the version of yourself who finally feels ready to press the bloody button.

And this week, I did. 🥹

I launched The Community Content Method™, an online course created specifically for charities, CICs, social enterprises and voluntary groups who are doing incredible work but need help communicating that work in a way that people actually notice, understand and care about.

It’s built from years of me doing exactly that in real life.

The successes, the mistakes, the things I’ve learned the hard way, the things I wish somebody had told me years ago, all finally in one place.

Could I have kept tweaking it for another two years?

Absolutely 😂

But eventually you have to stop asking yourself what happens if it fails and give yourself the chance to find out what happens if it doesn’t.

So I did the thing.

And I’m really bloody proud of myself for doing it 🖤

The Community Content Method™ is officially live.

Giving rich bitch energy on a tax-paying budget at the recent Aviation Polo Cup 😅

I had less than 24 hours’ notice, so naturally I decided the only sensible option was to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn and hope for the best 😂🖤

I went from watching my first ever polo match, to helicopter displays, a hot air balloon ride, an incredible drone light show, dancing… and then, for reasons I’m still not entirely sure about, I voluntarily hopped on a Ferris wheel despite being absolutely terrified of heights 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

All while casually rubbing shoulders with the rich and fabulous in my high-street dress.

Proof that confidence is free and nobody needs to know where the outfit came from 😂 We had the BEST time.

It was glamorous, slightly surreal and completely out of my comfort zone. But I guess some of the best days are the ones you have absolutely no time to plan for… or panic over 🖤🥂🐎
