Today is the day!✨📖

My book’s pub day!

My vision for Astrology & Shadow Work stems from some simple truths: we each have gifts. Modern life, with its distractions and expectations, disconnects us from those gifts. And astrology is a blueprint for coming home to ourselves.

In readings, I’ve been grateful to connect with a range of people - from sixteen-year-olds curious on their journey to eighty-year-olds reflecting on their path. I wrote this book to give readers the tools to learn their charts. Their own patterns. Their own truth. Astrology is a key to unlock what you already know, but might’ve forgotten. It’s not just about learning a language - it’s about returning to who you are.

Thank you to Amy, Marysa, Kat and the team of alchemists at @llewellynbooks for making magic with me. 💜

The October book is here! This month for Salon Book Club, we’ll be reading The Other Side: A Story of Women in Art and the Spirit World by Jennifer Higgie. This is the first major work of art history to focus on women artists and their engagement with the spirit world.

In addition to exploring the lives of extraordinary women artists, Jennifer Higgie shares the solace of ritual, the gender exclusions of art history, the contemporary relevance of myth, and much more. A radical reappraisal of a marginalized group of artists, The Other Side is an intoxicating blend of memoir, biography, and art history. Also, hard to think of a better pick for a Venus retrograde in spooky season 🖤

Had the incredible opportunity to attend Indigenous New York Fashion Week, meet and interview @josh_tafoya_ and write about it for V Magazine ✍️

Haven’t been able to stop thinking about the couture shows. The performances. The craftsmanship. The community.

Thank you @indigenousnyfw, Josh & Jenny 💛

Slides 1-8 are all the designs of @josh_tafoya_ and article 📸: @sidesquash

Our first gathering of Salon: An Art & Fashion Book Club is just weeks away! ♥️📚

Our first book will be The Beautiful Fall: Fashion, Genius, and Glorious Excess in 1970s Paris by Alicia Drake. It’s a comprehensive biography of the late designer, Karl Lagerfeld, and his infamous rivalry with Yves Saint Laurent.

Every month, we’ll gather and discuss some of the best nonfiction books covering art and fashion and discover notable moments throughout the history of fashion. @marmaladefreshclothing in Brooklyn will provide the cozy, salon vibe, and we’ll have the types of French wine on hand that we might’ve found Yves Saint Laurent sipping at Cafe de Fleur in the seventies.

Books can be ordered through Word Bookstore for a 10% discount.

Shared September astrology with @elitedaily and published horoscopes for all signs on @substack 🍂✨

This month, we’re leaving the intensity from the eclipses, but gearing up for a powerful Venus retrograde (now in pre-shadow)… and writing about relationship-heavy astrology feels like channeling Carrie Bradshaw. Read more in stories 🗞️♥️ taken in New York City by @iamcatherinegerdes

Iris van Herpen and I are almost bday twins, and it was a delight to see how the restless energy of our sign of the twins manifests as perpetual evolution in her work on view at the “Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses” exhibition at @brooklynmuseum. Witnessing how she wove tech into couture, revealed her experiences with synesthesia through design, and looked to nature as the ultimate muse made this one of the summer’s best exhibitions for me. taken in Brooklyn Museum by @iamcatherinegerdes

On a cold, winter day in 2013, I waited in what felt like an infinity line to view Yayoi Kusama’s infinity room with suspended LED lights. After waiting a couple of hours outside of the David Zwirner Gallery in Chelsea (and receiving an ETA of a couple more hours to get in), I had to leave the line and head into work. While glad to have seen her colorful tentacle infinity room since then, I’ve felt haunted by the absence of those twinkling lights. This week, after ascending the seven-story spiral inside of the Guggenheim and waiting one hour, I finally had my sixty seconds to bask in the seemingly infinite and unpredictable lights of Kusama’s “Dancing Lights That Flew up to the Universe.” It was worth the wait.
