Happy New Year Everybody! I have some exciting news about the Good Things Jar for 2026!

This year I have decided to team up with my very talented friend Itziar @and_.styles for a Good Things ZINE Challenge for 2026! Make sure you go and FOLLOW her so you don’t miss any Good Things!

We both will be sharing some Zine folding tutorials to help you get started. The zines will be approximately 6” x 6” (15 cm * 15 cm) in size. There will be 8 pages and 4 pockets to complete and we will create one page or pocket insert for each month.

We still encourage you to write down your Good Things and keep them in your jar! These can always be used as personal prompts to inspire you as you create each month.

We are excited about this new adventure and look forward to creating some positive vibes with you each month so please join in! And when you post your pages, use the hashtag #GoodThingsZine2026 so we can share your positive vibes!

Hello again Everybody! Oh my Goodness! I think I have shown my face more since the first of the year than I did ALL of last year!

What’s HAPPENING?!!🫣😬😅

I’m SO excited about doing the Good Things Zine with you all this year! I know zines are not always easy but there’s so much potential and fun in this format!

So the way that the Good Things Zine works is as follows:

1 ~ At the end of each month, reflect on the Good Things that came your way!
2 ~ Pick your word or prompts that define your special moment.
3 ~ Create your spread or insert/journal card for that month.

This is the end of January so we will be doing the first page of the zine as January and the time is now!🤩

Here is the schedule that I was proposing in the video for the pages and the inserts (journal cards). But remember! This is YOUR zine so you can do whatever you’d like.

Making Polaroids is SO Super FUN!🤩 🤩🤩 I finally took the plunge and I already know that this is going to be a new obsession!!!

As you can see, just about anything cool and/interesting can be a focal point. I just love how this format showcases your subject. I’m excited to update my envelope journal with some of these so I’ll share that with you soon…

Recently someone asked me, “How do you use that in your journaling?”! And I believe they were talking about some tape I made from napkins a year or so ago.

I had to think about that one a bit because I have made SO many tapes since then and I’m old!!!😂😂😂

I have to confess that sometimes I just make things because I want to with no real project or purpose in mind. Things just go into my mental Rolodex and pop up when I’m creating and looking for that “thing”…
Can anyone relate?

Anywayz… here I am using my PET tape that I made with packing tape, magazines & cut & collage books.

Sometimes I make tape with double sided tape and napkins, scraps, wrapping paper or any cool thing that crosses my path!

Go check out @inky.mia today because she just put out a video on making washi tape from these cool and beautiful napkins she had.

Then go make some!

Day Eight ~ Stitching🪡🧵

Thanks to Mia @inky.mia and Steph @hilltop_view_journals, my sewing machine and I got reacquainted! It wasn’t love at first sight but we went to couples therapy and worked through our issues enough to get me through this prompt!🤭💕

I was trying to sew everything under the moon (late night) and the ideas were flowing! I even did a little sewing for the spine of my envelope journal which will be revealed after I finish my last prompt so I can decorate the cover…

Are you into sewing? I see a lot of fabulous slow stitching out there but I’m not ready for that yet. Too impatient…😮‍💨

Sew…🤭 What do you think? Do I need to keep stitching?

The Challenge is officially over but I’m not done! Are you surprised?

Soooo, I realized towards the end of this challenge that I was exploring the prompts but I wasn’t updating my envelope journal!🫣😬

So I am catching up with that and I hope you’re okay with me sending out a few posts to show you everything.

Mia @inky.mia and Steph @hilltop_view_journals did an amazing job at creating/hosting this challenge! Thank you both so much! You both were so inspiring and gave us a lot of cool ideas to explore well beyond the challenge!

Just chillin’ with Elvis as I flip through my Pockets!🤭♥️🎶🫧💕

The Spirit hit me last night as I realized that I needed to be updated my envelope journal along with creating the prompts!🫣😬

I don’t typically create pockets in advance like this because I just go with the flow of my projects and use my scraps to create the pockets that vibe with them. But this was a fun exercise and I may be doing more of it!☺️

I have many other types of pockets in this journal but these are the pages in my journal created specifically for this prompt. I hope you like them and get inspired to try this out!

I blame Mia @inky.mia for my tape making obsession!

~ It’s not because I get excited about learning something new!🤩
~ It’s not because I have an obsessive personality!😬
~ It’s not because I don’t know when to stop!🫣

So I t all started out with napkin tape…
(right Mia?😉) I was on the internet, minding my own business and Miss Mia walked in and turned on the lights!🤭🤭💕

I recently emerged from the rabbit hole of making scrappy tape so I decided to use packing tape and strip some images out of some of my favorite magazines and Cut & Collage books! SO fun!
