Our Inner World Reflects In Our Outer World-Happy Monday 💡 ❤️ 💫 ! This week, we are reflecting on how our inner world (how we think and more importantly, how we feel) reflects in our outer world, our physical space and how our physical environment dramatically influences how we are feeling. This is not a new concept. In fact, take a moment to assess your space. Your desk, your office, your car, your home, your digital life. What is your space telling you? Last week, I had the privilege of cofacilitating a feature presentation at our The Westport BNI<https://www.linkedin.com/company/westport-bni/> meeting with Bridget Flynn<https://www.linkedin.com/in/divineorganizing/>, the owner of Divine Organizing. We helped our colleagues do just that. We helped them think about how the way they are (or have been feeling), is reflecting in their outer world. We talked about the science of energy and how we can literally change how we are feeling by changing our thoughts, in order to reflect in our outer world (the work that I do with my clients). Additionally, by changing our physical space (the work that Bridget does with her clients), we can change how we are feeling and change our outlook. Whether you are a CEO, solopreneur, or creative, your environment tells a story about your mindset, emotions and leadership style. Energy Leadership teaches us that our inner state operates on levels-from stress to flow. Our physical environment either reflects or reinforces those levels. It’s not just your desk. Your car, your digital life, your kitchen – even your phone – reflect your state of being. Our physical space is the blueprint of our inner world. ❤️ACCOUNTABILITY IS CARE. I often observe leaders avoid a difficult conversation with someone on their team. This time, I observed really close. In this situation, the behavior wasn’t new. The impact was real. And everyone knew it. Yet the conversation kept getting pushed off. Why? ➡️ Because the leader cared. They didn’t want to hurt the person. They didn’t want to create conflict. They wanted to give them one more chance. However, here’s what I’ve learned: 💡 Avoiding accountability isn’t always kindness. Sometimes, the most caring thing a leader can do is have the conversation. Be clear. Be honest. Be respectful. Be willing to say what needs to be said. It takes courage, yet it will be worth it. Because when we don’t address what isn’t working, we don’t just affect one person. ➡️ We affect the entire team. Accountability says: I care enough about you to tell you the truth. I care enough about the team to protect what matters. And I care enough about our culture not to tolerate what we say we don’t tolerate. Accountability isn’t the opposite of care. 🔑 It’s one of the highest forms of it. 🔑 Communication is The Operating System 🤔 Think about the last time something went wrong. Now, unravel it. Why did it go wrong? And then, why did that happen?
