Double Virgo x Meow Mix present MAJOR THREAT! & Tami Hart is Nirvana!

Tami Hart was 13 when Kurt Cobain died; that weekend, she and her friend Mike wandered into the Carolina woods with a boombox, a cassette of Nevermind, and cigarettes stolen from Mike’s parents and held their own vigil in the wilderness. For years afterward, Tami swore she could speak to Kurt, often returning to the woods to seek his counsel. It’s a fitting origin story for an artist who would later carve out her own place in queer punk and grunge. Decades later, Kathleen Hanna wrote in her memoir Rebel Girl that Tami’s guitar playing was reminiscent of some of Nirvana’s biggest hits turned folkier, carried by her “big, twangy, vulnerable voice.” Tami emerged nationally at 19 with No Light in August, then toured with Sleater-Kinney and Indigo Girls and played in Making Friendz and MEN before stepping away from music for more than two decades. Now she’s back with Tami Hart, her first solo album in over 20 years, produced by Ted Leo and out November 13 on Don Giovanni Records.

Gus Morgan, aka “Destroy” is a drummer based in NYC. Formerly of Lunachicks and Led Zeppelin, Destroy has been a touring and session drummer for just shy of 30 years. He’s psyched as hell to be rocking with the Tami Hart band!

Daniel Scott Erickson plays guitar and sings. As 1/2 of the duo, Making Friends and the guitarist in the queer punk band, Little Victory, he has been able to play in a lot of incredible places with a lot of his heroes for incredible people all over the world. His current favorite place is onstage with Tami Hart.

Adrienne Lloyd: When she’s not busy learning Novoselic bass lines, Adrienne Lloyd can be found playing bass with Tami Hart and walking her dog in Harlem.

At the last minute, I decided to take them all to storage and save myself what would’ve been a nightmare of stairs. I can’t wait to go back and reorganize everything and actually look and feel the things I bought. Lol. #Drums #drummer #newdrums #musiciansofinstagram #drummersofinstagram by @iamdestroy_nyc
