Day 3 | What Are You Carrying?

I’m preparing for a backpacking trip, and every ounce matters.

Put too much in the pack and eventually, my body pays for every unnecessary thing I decided to carry.

And I couldn’t stop thinking about how differently we move through life.

We carry expectations we never agreed to.

Definitions of success we inherited.

Roles we learned to play.

Stories about who we are.

Rules about what a “good” woman, a “strong” woman, a “successful” woman should do.

And after carrying them long enough, we stop recognizing them as something we picked up.

They just start feeling like who we are.

I’m learning to question that.

Not everything I’ve carried deserves to come with me where I’m going.

Maybe that’s part of becoming.

Not adding more.

Getting honest about what you’re finally willing to put down.

#EveryPossibleThing #Possibility #Identity #transformation by @iamdrnaeema

For years, I believed transformation meant becoming someone new.
I don’t believe that anymore.
I believe transformation begins when we examine the beliefs that have quietly been running our lives—and begin choosing what we want to believe now.
I’m closing one chapter and beginning another.
Welcome to Every Possible Thing.
Over the next 30 days, I’ll be sharing stories and questions about identity, inherited beliefs, possibility, choice, and becoming.
This is not about becoming someone else.
It is about questioning what has limited who you already are.
Follow the journey.

DAY 23 | Every Possible Thing Nothing wrong with being needed EXCEPT if you’re hiding behind it.
I’ve spent a lot of my life asking:

“What needs to be done?”

Not:

“What do I want?”

There’s a difference.

So many of us become experts at caring for everyone else—the family, the career, the business, the people who need us.

And there’s nothing wrong with being dependable.

But eventually, “What needs to be done?” can become the question running your entire life.

Until someone asks what you want and you realize:

I don’t know.

The uncomfortable truth?

Sometimes focusing on everyone else is easier. As long as I’m busy fixing, helping and supporting, I don’t have to face what’s happening inside me.

I’m learning that caring for myself doesn’t make me less caring.

It means I belong on the list, too.

If you’ve lost touch with what you want, I see you.

DAY 22 | Every Possible Thing What hit me today:

The woman who started this sprint 21 days ago is not supposed to be the same woman who finishes it.

That’s the whole point.

When I started chiropractic school, I didn’t walk in already knowing how to be a doctor. The student who began that program had to learn, screw some things up, forget some things, figure herself out and become the doctor her future patients would eventually need.

Entrepreneurship isn’t that different.

I keep expecting myself to already know things I’m literally in the process of learning.

How to build this.
How to talk about it.
What works.
What doesn’t.
What feels like me.
What I need to let go of.

This 30-day sprint isn’t just about whether I can show up for 30 days.

I’m watching myself evolve in real time.

And some days, that means reminding myself:

You know what you know.
You forgot what you forgot.
Give yourself some damn grace.

Keep going.

DAY 20 | Every Possible Thing JOY doesn’t need better conditions.
Nature is simply JOY to me.
A downpour came out of nowhere.

I was getting soaked.

And I was still ridiculously HAPPY.

Purely because I LOVE being out here.

No frustration. No ruined day. Just me laughing at myself, the rain, and the fact that nature clearly had its own plans.

I didn’t need the weather to cooperate for me to enjoy where I was.

JOY doesn’t need better conditions.

DAY 19 | Every Possible Thing Don’t confuse “not yet” with “not coming.
For months, I walked this section of trail nervous about how close erosion had brought it to the edge.

Then today I came back.

The trail had been rerouted.

Different path. Same destination.

And it reminded me how quickly we can decide that because we don’t see anything changing, nothing is changing.

Sometimes the answer is still being built.

Sometimes the route changes.

Sometimes what you’ve been waiting for simply hasn’t reached you yet.

Don’t confuse “not yet” with “not coming.

DAY 19 | Every Possible Thing STOP IT!
“Can I?” sounds like a reasonable question.

It’s not. It sends you straight to every reason you can’t.

Try these instead:
“Who do I need to BECOME?”
“What do I need to BELIEVE”
“What would I need to make this POSSIBLE?”

That question doesn’t guarantee a yes.

It just stops you from beginning with no.

DAY 18 | Every Possible Thing Overwhelm makes everything feel urgent.

It isn’t.

When my mind starts racing ahead, I come back to three things:

Find the ground.
Name the fact.
Shrink the next move.

Focusing on these 3 helps me stop reacting to ten things at once and deal with what is actually in front of me.

Clarity comes from distinguishing between the facts and the story you’re telling yourself about said facts.

DAY 17 | Every Possible Thing I do NOT want to film being bad at something😖😓
Who can relate to making public declarations of what you’re bad at is a BAD idea✋🏽
There’s a humbling part of starting something new:

You’re used to being competent.

Then suddenly, you don’t know what you’re doing.

I know how to backpack.

I did not know how to set up my own tent.

And it reminded me how easy it is to mistake being inexperienced for being incapable.

Sometimes struggling doesn’t mean you’re bad at it.

It means this part is new.

Where are you expecting yourself to already know something you’ve never actually had to learn?

DAY 16 | Every Possible Thing
For a long time, I thought knowing better would make me do better.

It didn’t.

I understood the pattern. I knew what it was costing me. I could even recognize it in other people.

And still, I repeated it.

Because awareness doesn’t automatically change behavior.

Habit matters. Fear matters. Identity matters.

Knowing is the beginning of the work—not the end.

I knew what chronic stress was doing to my body. I just couldn’t see the pattern clearly enough in myself to stop.

Knowing better didn’t make me do better.

So I stopped asking, “Don’t I already know this?”

And started asking, “Why isn’t knowing changing what I do?”

DAY 15 | Every Possible Thing We trust visible progress.

The new job.
The money.
The relationship.
The finished project.

What’s harder to trust is the part that happens before there is anything to point to.

The uncomfortable conversation.

The boundary nobody applauds.

Learning to respond differently.

Trying something you’re not good at yet.

That work can look like nothing from the outside.

So we start making conclusions:

“This isn’t working.”

“I’m too late.”

“Maybe I’m not cut out for this.”

Maybe.

But maybe you simply don’t have enough information yet.

A tree doesn’t begin with what we can see above ground. It establishes something underneath first.

Human change can be like that too.

Not every season of resistance means “keep going.”

But resistance isn’t a verdict either.

What might be developing that you can’t see yet?
