We stand with #EmilyCortez and with every child who has been too afraid to speak, too young to know how to explain what happened or who spoke up and wasn’t believed. A child should never have to carry the weight of someone else’s silence.

Their body belongs to them.
Their boundaries matter.
Their NO matters.
Their feelings matter.
And when they ask for help, we should listen.

Thank you to our comrades @gilb.ertnunez and @la_urie4262 for helping Emily’s mom bring this story to the light. Showing up matters but so does what happens after the cameras leave. Photo ops are easy. Credibility is earned through standing with families when there’s nothing to gain from the picture.

We hear you. We believe children deserve to be safe. And we will keep speaking up for those who cannot yet speak for themselves.

This Chicano Heritage Month, I urge you all to remember our history.

On August 29, 1970 thousands of Chicanos gathered in East Los Angeles for the National Chicano Moratorium, protesting the Vietnam War and the disproportionate number of Mexican American men being sent to fight and die.

The demonstration was peaceful till LAPD showed up and swarmed our community with tear gas. Hundreds arrested leaving many injured but 3 people were murdered in broad daylight.

🕊️ Rubén Salazar — the Los Angeles Times journalist and KMEX news director was inside the Silver Dollar Café when an L.A. County Sheriff's deputy fired a tear-gas projectile into the building. It struck Salazar in the head and killed him.

🕊️ Angel Diaz — 35 years old. During the chaos, Diaz was attempting to get away when deputies opened fire. He was critically injured and later died from those injuries.

🕊️ Lynn Ward — only 15 years old and serving as a Brown Beret medic. He was caught in an explosion during the violence and suffered devastating injuries. He later died from those injuries. A 15-year-old was among the lives lost that day.

Now, 56 years later, we continue to remember the people who stood up, spoke out, and demanded that Chicano lives be valued.

The Traqueros helped build and maintain America’s railroad system, yet their contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This monument is more than a sculpture it’s a tribute to the generations of Mexican American and Chicano workers whose labor helped shape this country. Now we have an opportunity to make sure their legacy is honored.

Please take a few minutes to send a respectful email in support of the Traqueros Monument. Every voice matters, and together we can help preserve this important chapter of our history for future generations.

The Good, The Bad, The Disrespectful & The Ugly

Not every man is the same, no matter how many fuck heads we run into.

🟢 The Good

•Respects your boundaries always
• Supports your goals instead of competing with them.
•Communicates without insults or intimidation.
•Makes you feel safe ( not butterflies bitch, thats your body telling you no)
•Accepts "no" without guilt-tripping.

🟡 The Bad

• Inconsistent effort.
• Mixed signals.
• Only reaches out when it's convenient.
• Avoids accountability.
• Makes excuses instead of making changes.

🟠 The Disrespectful

• Talks over you or dismisses your opinions.
• Calls you "too emotional" to avoid taking responsibility. (YEAH WHY TF DID HE UNFOLLOW BECKY WITH THE GOOD HAIR?!)
• Pressures you into sex, money, or favors.
• Flirts with others to make you jealous.
• Embarrasses you in public or private.
• Ignores your boundaries after you've clearly stated them.

🔴 The Ugly

• Physical violence.
• Threats or intimidation.
• Stalking or controlling where you go.
• Isolating you from family and friends.
• Financial abuse.
• Destroying your property.
• Constant manipulation, humiliation, or fear.

💖 REMINDER 💖
You don't have to stay in the dark to prove your loyalty.You don't have to fight to prove your value.You don't have to heal someone who prefers to stay broken.True love should feel like an exhale, not a test. It brings clarity over confusion, safety over fear, and growth over pain.

Just please dont be that person giving the red flags from the other side or I swear I'll pull up 🤣😆 Ill get toxic on your ass for making us look bad. Just incase this was all a good joke 🤭 but fr learn, grow, be better

The California Trail and the Pony Express often shared sections of the same corridor through what is now western Nevada, including Carson City, but the trails followed routes that Indigenous peoples had established long before Euro-American migration. That's one of the most important and often overlooked parts of this story.
