Who would have thought that when I walked into @montrosecenter for the first time in 2010 that they would invest in honoring me 16 years later at a sold out gala. To community and all of the support received over the years, this one is for us.

Looking forward to the celebration tonight! 😀 taken in Marriott Marquis Houston by @iamkevindapree

The conversations we usually keep behind closed doors? We’re bringing them to the table.

Break the Silence is about having the conversations our community doesn’t always make room for — openly, honestly and without pretending the difficult parts don’t exist.

Join us at Play Nightlife for a live conversation with four panelists willing to go there, moderated by Kevin Anderson. @iamkevindapree

And this isn’t a conversation we want you to only listen to. Bring your questions. Bring your perspective. Be part of it.

📅 Thursday, October 22 | 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Play Nightlife | 2409 Grant St., Ste. D, Houston
🎤 Moderated by Kevin Anderson

RSVP through the link in our bio.

What’s one conversation you think our community needs to stop avoiding?

“I think coming out happens in so many layers," says @iamkevindapree.

For @outsmartmagazine, I spoke with Anderson, founder and CEO of The T.R.U.T.H. Project ( @truthprojecthtx ), about receiving the @montrosecenter’s 2026 LGBTQ+ Innovator Award.

We talked about ancestry and innovation, art as a universal language, creating space for queer and trans communities of color, and how helping others tell their truths gave Kevin the courage to tell more of his own.
