The Rebirth🙏🏽 by @iammilanrouge

“A lot of time we focus on the titles and not the individual behind the dream,” says Milan Harris, Founder of fashion house @milanodirouge “And a lot of times we get lost in those titles.”

Milan joined Forbes The Enterprise Zone at the @nasdaq MarketSite. Harris, who founded her company in 2012, discussed her plan to build a “dreamer’s sanctuary” inside her new 21,000 square foot headquarters in Georgia for CEOs to escape and reset. The joy I felt going back to my high school with my son❤️ by @iammilanrouge

The last time I saw my teacher, Ms. Krauter, was January 2007. I’ll never forget standing outside her classroom, room 317, during my senior year. I had just gotten into my 3rd fight, and she was standing at the door waiting for me. She told me they were having a meeting to expel me and that I needed to tell my mom to transfer me out before the meeting.

I was in my LAST semester of high school. After almost four years of hard work, I was facing losing everything I had worked for, including my scholarships.

I didn’t get to graduate with my classmates. I missed my senior prom. And the hardest part was knowing that I had gotten into a fight I didn’t even want to fight.

I allowed someone else to control my emotions, and it cost me something I could never get back. That experience taught me a lesson I’ve carried with me for the last 19 years. NEVER give someone else so much power over your emotions that their actions determine your future.
Even today, whether it’s social media or real life, I have to remind myself of that. People will provoke you, disrespect you, use you for clout, or try to pull you into whatever they’re going through. And sometimes you’ll have EVERY reason to respond. Trust me, I be having A LOT to say. But I’ve learned that just because you have something to say doesn’t mean it’s the time to say it.

I recently heard Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell say, “There is a time to defend yourself and there is a time to be silent.”
WHEW! That spoke to me.

I pray constantly for the wisdom to know the difference. Because sometimes protecting your peace, your purpose, and everything you’ve worked for is more important than proving a point.

So if there’s ONE thing you take from my story, let it be this: Don’t let someone else’s behavior control how YOU show up in this world. One moment of emotion can cost you years of hard work.

To all the TEACHERS around the world, I want y’all to know WE LOVE YOU! ❤️ Sometimes you don’t get the recognition you deserve but your words, your patience, your encouragement, and the seeds you plant are NOT wasted. by @iammilanrouge

Walking back through those hallways after 19 years did something to me🥹❤️ I needed this moment more than I even realized.
I remember being a student at Upper Darby High School, sitting in that same audience, listening to guest speakers share their stories. So to come back years later, share mine, and hopefully inspire these kids to believe that they can do and be ANYTHING they dream of… man, what a full-circle moment🥹
Thank you to UDHS for having me and a special thank you to my high school fashion design teacher, Ms @iouliarose for helping make this happen. ❤️

And shoutout to my Milano Di Rouge team! Y’all are the BEST!

The Dreamers Uniform Tour was a SUCCESS! 🌟❤️

It breaks my heart to see this cycle continue💔 Growing up down da Bottom, I watched the same cycle repeat itself over and over again. Kids I used to babysit, kids I watched grow up who were so smart, so full of life, and had so much potential. Then years later, i’d see those same kids standing on the corner, caught up in the streets. Man, nothing breaks my heart more. Because sometimes you can see so much potential in somebody, but if they can’t see it in themselves, and nobody takes the time to pour into that potential, it can go unnoticed. by @iammilanrouge

WELCOME TO MY CRIB 🏡❤️

There was a time when everything I have today was something I prayed for. And this house was one of those prayers!

I remember finding this house at 5 in the morning while feeding my 4-month-old Czar. I would fly back and forth from LA to ATL touring houses, and I was ready to give up my search in Atlanta. But then I came across this house, and something told me this was it. The moment I walked through those doors, I knew it was the one. 🥹

So many memories, milestones, lessons, and dreams came to life behind these doors. And I’ll forever be grateful for this chapter.

But one thing I’m learning in this season is that you can absolutely love the life you’ve built and still want to experience something different.

Sometimes we get so caught up in building a life that we forget we’re supposed to be living it too!

And sometimes you just gotta GO! 😂 Pick up, move to a new city, try something different, meet new people, create new memories. You don’t have to wait until something is wrong with your life to make a change.

I’m learning that becoming the dream is about giving yourself permission to actually experience the life you’ve worked so hard to build.

And just because something was once your dream doesn’t mean it has to be your forever.

Anywayyyyy, enough of my TED Talk! 😂

Oh, and yes, my house is officially FOR SALE! 🏡🔑 If you’re interested in making this your dream home, email iammilanrouge@gmail.com details❤️
