📣 Hey Maryland voters! 📣

Today is the final day of early voting, and I proudly cast my vote this morning for two candidates who will be ready on day one!

@eunieshadavis will bring fresh energy to the Prince George’s County Council as a real voice for real people.

@votetarajackson brings over two decades of experience as a prosecutor, executive leader, and public servant. She’s already doing the impactful work that matters as Prince George’s County State’s Attorney! Let’s keep her there.

Voting for two of my Sorors is just icing on the cake. ❤️

I like to consider myself an “honorary” Detroit girl!

I like Vernors, adore the Clark Sisters, was a Cool C devotee (IYKYK), and their Cass Tech was my I.C. Norcom High - a school where I was reaffirmed daily.

But what I love so much about @ariansimone isn’t just her Detroit roots, but her faith, her commitment to making every space she enters better, and her unshakable resilience!

On this your beautiful wedding weekend, please know just how much you are loved! I pray that God will continue to bless you and Benjamin beyond your wildest dreams.

Day 2 in Accra, and it’s been such a transformational experience. It’s my first time on the Continent and I am so enveloped in love, culture, and an indescribable feeling of “home!”

From the intentionality of our #RoyalWedding hosts Arian Simone (who is a stunningly beautiful bride!!!) and Benjamin, to the warmth that only my Adu family can provide, I feel beyond blessed.

This is what resistance looks like! Because when we vote, we win.

So proud of the work of @ncbwdc in partnership with my amazing sorority, Delta Sigma Theta - DC Alumnae and Federal City, NCNW Washington Section, and Urban League’s Thursday Network.

We recently hosted a nonpartisan Candidates Forum, where we heard from the At-Large DC hopefuls. Moderated by the Washington Informer’s own @drolarkb, we explored the issues that matter most, and Board of Elections Executive Director Monica Evans broke down Ranked Choice Voting.

A week ago, Washington was buzzing about “nerd prom,” and I cannot imagine how insane things must’ve been in that room at the Washington Hilton.

But 24 hours before, Brunswick and the Daily Mail hosted an amazing soirée at the British Embassy honoring the power and role of a free press in our society. As a (former) journalist, I am deeply committed to ensuring truth tellers and fact finders have a voice. And how cool to run into my journalism professor Jon Decker who celebrated his 30th White House Correspondents Dinner weekend!
