What if we stopped using “mom” as an excuse to put our dreams on hold, and actually made it happen?

What if we stopped feeling guilty for doing something for ourselves?

What if our kids and husbands got to see a better version of us? Happier. More confident. More present.

What if change only took 20 intentional minutes a day? Not another hour you don’t have. Just 20, built to fit the life you’re already living 🌿

My life has been rebuilt from scratch more than once. Not because I chose to. Because I had to. You don’t have to burn yours to the ground to rebuild it 🔥

The 20/80 Method is how I did it, and how you can too. 20 minutes visible, 80% of the real work happening underneath it ✨

Comment THRIVE and I’ll walk you through exactly how it works for you 🔥

I turned my pain into purpose. My rejection into redirection. ❤️‍🔥

I didn’t come from money. Nothing was handed to me on a silver platter. And for a while, I genuinely thought I had created my perfect life.

Until it all fell apart.

Rebuilding forced me to face parts of myself I had spent years avoiding.

The emotionally unavailable relationships. The codependency. The need to feel worthy by being needed. The patterns that went all the way back to my relationship with my biological father.

I had to dismantle all of it. 🤍

And THAT is why I became a life coach for moms.

Because survival mode can look like so many things.

Feeling overwhelmed by everything. Snapping at your kids and immediately feeling guilty. Constantly putting yourself last. Going through the motions and telling yourself, “This is just motherhood. It’s a season. I’m tired. It’s my hormones.”

So we normalize feeling disconnected from ourselves.

And then at night, when everything finally gets quiet, you wonder:

“Is this really it?”

Only to feel guilty five minutes later because you should be grateful.

But wanting more doesn’t mean you don’t love your kids or appreciate your life.

Maybe that feeling is the nudge telling you there’s more of YOU waiting to be lived. ✨

And when you start listening to it, you’re not only changing your life. Your kids get to watch their mom create her dream life, too.

If I could rebuild from where I started, I truly believe you can too.

Comment METHOD and I’ll show you where to start.

xoxo,
Nicki 🤍 by @iamnickilynn.s

I didn’t rebuild my life overnight. I rebuilt myself first.✨

At 32, I became a single mom of three after my husband had an affair and wanted a divorce. I had no real career, no personal income, no Plan B and somewhere along the way, I’d completely lost myself.

What followed was years of inner work. Meditation. Counselling. Spirituality. Becoming a neuroscience nerd. Learning to regulate my nervous system, break old patterns, rebuild my self worth and rediscover who I was outside of “Mom.” 🧠

And that work changed everything.

I bought a home in my dream neighbourhood. Published a book. Travelled. Built a career I love. Created flexibility to be there for my girls. And most importantly, I created a life that lights me up. 💫

Now I help other moms do the same.

Sometimes a marriage doesn’t fall apart overnight. Sometimes two people spend so many years taking care of everyone else that they forget about each other. ❤️

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a mom who’s ready to rediscover her identity, reconnect with what matters and create a life she’s genuinely excited about. ✨

I’ve lived this.

When my girls were little, my ex-husband and I were so consumed with raising three kids and managing everyday life that our own needs slowly became an afterthought.

He’d make time to golf or play hockey.

And me? I’d get my hair done every six weeks and apparently that was my personal time. 😂

But looking back, I realize something.

I had become so wrapped up in being a mom that I barely made room for the woman I was outside of motherhood.

And somewhere along the way, we stopped making room for US, too.

We were raising our kids, managing schedules and keeping life moving.

But we weren’t intentionally nurturing our relationship or our individual identities.

Years of putting ourselves last took a toll.

And ultimately, our marriage didn’t last.

📌 Save this because here’s the perspective shift I wish I’d understood sooner.

You can’t expect your relationship to thrive if both people are constantly operating on whatever energy is left over.

And you can’t keep putting your own identity, passions and needs on hold indefinitely without it affecting how you show up in your life.

This isn’t about blaming motherhood for a marriage ending. Relationships are far more complicated than that.

It’s about recognizing how easily we can lose sight of ourselves AND each other while trying to be everything our families need.

You deserve to be more than the person who keeps everything running.

And your relationship deserves more than conversations about who’s driving to hockey. 🤍

Here’s what I wish more women knew about this stage of motherhood…

You can love the life you’ve built and still feel like something is missing.

You can be incredibly proud of the kids you’re raising and still wonder what the hell happened to all those dreams you once had.

And when your kids start getting older, something shifts.

You realize you’ve spent years making sure everyone else has what they need, but somewhere along the way, you stopped asking yourself what YOU want.

And the scary part? Another five years can pass just as quickly if you keep waiting for life to slow down.

But you don’t need to blow up the life you love to start creating something that’s yours.

You get to have both. 🤍

✨ Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a mom ready to rediscover who you are, figure out what’s next, and actually start going after it.

Sometimes the life you never planned becomes the one that teaches you what you’re actually capable of. 🦋

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a mom who’s ready to rediscover her identity, pursue her own dreams and create a life she’s genuinely excited to wake up to. ✨

When my marriage ended, I had no idea how I was going to rebuild my life as a single mom of three.

But what started as a journey of survival eventually became a journey of self-discovery.

I started questioning the beliefs I’d held about myself, what I was capable of and what I actually wanted from life.

And I realized something that changed everything.

I hadn’t stopped having dreams. I’d just stopped making room for them.

The biggest transformation wasn’t the businesses, the book or the adventures.

It was learning to trust myself enough to believe I could create something different.

📌 Save this if you’re navigating a new chapter and wondering what’s possible for YOU.

Because you don’t have to lose everything to start rediscovering yourself.

You can love your family, embrace motherhood AND still have an entire life of your own to explore. 🤍

Weekend edition: Life coach, single mom of 3, and full-time hockey chauffeur. 🏒😂

At this point, I basically live out of my car on weekends. Coffee, hockey bags, rink hopping and approximately 47 things on the go.

Between motherhood, building my coaching business and chasing big dreams, life is BUSY.

But watching my girls do what they love and making these memories together?

That fills my cup every single time. ❤️

Because life is meant to be experienced, not just survived. 🦋

What if the woman you’re trying to get back to isn’t actually the woman you’re meant to become?

I love how @haileybieber put this into words. ❤️ It’s a conversation I wish we had more often.

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a mom who loves her family but knows there’s still so much more she wants to experience, create and accomplish.

We spend so much time preparing for pregnancy, childbirth and raising our children, but very little time preparing for how much motherhood changes US.

Our priorities shift. Our relationships evolve. And somewhere between school drop-offs, hockey practices and taking care of everyone else, our own dreams quietly get pushed aside.

Not because we’ve stopped wanting more, but because we’ve become so used to putting ourselves last.

Here’s what I believe: Motherhood was never meant to be the end of your ambition.

You don’t need to go back to who you were before kids. You’ve grown, evolved and become someone new.

But who do you want to become NEXT?

This is why I created my Align & Thrive 20/80 Method. To help moms break the patterns keeping them stuck, reconnect with what excites them and start building something that’s theirs, without sacrificing the family they love.

Because your children are growing, changing and discovering who they’re becoming.

You still get to do that too. ❤️

And maybe the most exciting chapter of your life hasn’t even started yet.

💬 Have you felt this shift in your own identity since becoming a mom?

#motherhoodidentity #momlife #lifecoachforwomen #motherhood #momsover40 by @iamnickilynn.s

You don’t have a problem making things happen. You’ve been making things happen for everyone else for YEARS. 👀

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a busy, ambitious mom who’s ready to rediscover her purpose, pursue her own goals and create a life she’s genuinely excited about. ✨

Here’s what I’d change first.

Stop treating your own dreams like they’re optional.

Think about it.

You don’t wait until you have extra time to take your kids to hockey, book appointments or organize everyone’s schedules.

You make those things happen because they matter.

But your own goals?

They get whatever time and energy are left over.

And when you’re managing an entire family, that’s usually not much. 😂

📌 Save this because here’s something practical I want you to try.

1. Choose ONE goal that genuinely excites you. Not something you think you should want.

2. Break it down into one action you can complete in 20 minutes.

3. Put those 20 minutes in your calendar this week. If something comes up, reschedule them instead of deleting them.

Because the goal isn’t to suddenly find hours of free time.

It’s to start treating your own future like something worth making room for.

Every small promise you keep to yourself helps rebuild the self-trust that makes bigger dreams feel possible. 🦋

🤍 Share this with a mom who’s amazing at making everyone else’s life happen but keeps postponing her own.

Imagine if we gave our own dreams even half the encouragement we give our kids. 👀

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a busy, ambitious mom with big dreams who’s ready to create a life she’s genuinely excited to wake up to. ✨

We’ll rearrange our entire schedules for hockey practices, dance lessons, tournaments and whatever new passion our kids discover.

We’ll invest the time, money and energy because we believe in their potential.

But when it comes to our own goals?

Suddenly, we’re being unrealistic.

We don’t have the time.

It’s too expensive.

Maybe when the kids are older.

And here’s what I find so interesting…

We teach our kids to believe anything is possible while quietly convincing ourselves that our own possibilities are limited.

I never want my three girls to believe that motherhood means the end of their ambition.

I want them to know they can raise amazing kids AND write the book, start the business, travel the world or pursue something that lights them up.

And I want them to know that because they watched me do it.

Not perfectly. Not without setbacks. And definitely not with an empty calendar. 😂

But by making the decision that my dreams mattered, too.

Because your children can be your greatest priority without your goals always being the first thing you sacrifice.

Motherhood should expand your identity, not erase it. 🦋

📌 Save this for the next time you catch yourself putting your dreams on the back burner.

And share it with a mom who deserves the same encouragement she gives everyone else. 🤍

I assumed identity loss in motherhood hit hardest during the baby years. But what surprised me was what happens later. 👀

Follow @iamnickilynn.s if you’re a mom ready to rediscover your identity, find purpose beyond motherhood and start chasing your own dreams. ✨

When your kids are little, they need you for EVERYTHING.

But as they become more independent, something shifts.

For some moms, the bigger identity crisis comes when the role they’ve built their life around starts changing.

Suddenly, you’re wondering…

Who am I outside of being a mom? What do I want for MY future?

📌 Save this if you’re navigating this next chapter of motherhood.

Here’s the perspective shift:

Maybe you haven’t lost yourself. Maybe you’re ready to discover who you’re becoming. 🦋

I think so many of us spend years trying to figure out how to feel like our old selves again.

But motherhood changes you.

Your priorities shift. Your experiences shape you. The things that once excited you might not be the things you want anymore.

And that’s okay.

What if instead of trying to find the old you, you gave yourself permission to discover the woman you’re becoming?

At 32, I found myself rebuilding my life as a single mom of three.

And through that journey, I discovered passions, strengths and dreams I didn’t even know I had.

I built businesses, wrote a book, changed careers and started creating a life I genuinely love.

Not because I went back to who I used to be.

But because I got curious about who I could become.

And I think that’s something more moms deserve to experience.

You can absolutely love being a mom AND want to explore the parts of yourself that exist beyond motherhood.

You didn’t necessarily lose yourself. Maybe you’re still becoming. 🦋

📌 Save this for the days you feel disconnected from who you are.

And share it with a mom who’s learning to embrace the woman she’s becoming, too. 🤍
