✨ It’s finally here. I’m honored to host Charlie’s Place — a podcast that brings the untold story of Charlie Fitzgerald and his legendary jukejoint back to life. What started as a hotspot for blues/jazz, joy, and integration in Jim Crow-era South Carolina became a powerful symbol of Black excellence and resilience.

This story is personal, bringing me back to the South. It’s about legacy, identity, and the spaces we fight to preserve. I can’t wait for you to hear it 🤎.

It’s been a dream patterning with @pushkinpods @atlasobscura @rococopunch & @mymyrtlebeach

#bts A little glimpse behind the veil of our short ‘Psyche & Eros.’ 🏹✨

I fell in love with this epic story in my Latin class in h.s. so stepping into Psyche felt like living somewhere between myth and memory…delicate, strange, and deeply human. I can’t wait for y’all to see the short film!!

So grateful to every artist, hand, and heart who brought this world to life. It takes a village to make a little magic. So fun to be a mermaid ♥️

Introducing our first panel at the Muslim Creatives Summit: Building Beyond the Gatekeepers: Distribution and the Future of Creative Work

What does it take to build a sustainable creative career when traditional doors don’t always open for us?

Join an incredible conversation with:

@i_am_idil: Writer, Director & Creative Producer

@richiereseda: Film & Music Producer, Cultural Organizer

Najla Zaidi: Director of the Hollywood Bureau at MPAC

Super excited to host this gathering alongside the incredible @iamrhym

Together, this panel explore how creatives can think beyond the traditional industry model-building audiences, creating independent pathways, leveraging community, and reimagining what success looks like in film, music, and storytelling.

This conversation is for anyone asking:
• How do I get my work seen?
• What does it look like to center community in my work?
• What does creative sustainability actually look like?

If you’re an emerging or established creative, this is a panel you won’t want to miss.

Our first panel is coming up. 🎬
Join us on April 15 at 5:30 PM PT for a conversation with two Muslim filmmakers whose work centers the stories that rarely make it to mainstream screens.
Justin Mashouf — Four-time Los Angeles Emmy Award-winning filmmaker (The Honest Struggle, Warring Factions)
Rhym Guissé — Actor, screenwriter, and producer with Algerian and Malian heritage (Cartes, How to Get Away With Murder)
Moderated by Margari Aziza Hill, MuslimARC Programming Director.
This is a real conversation about craft, identity, and what it means to make work with your community — not just about them.
Free and open to all. Streaming live on Facebook and YouTube.
