When @brittanydmorton invited me to join @savedinthecity Summer Reset to talk about purpose, I immediately knew it would be a good conversation. 💯

Because I loooooooovvveee talking about purpose. It’s such a key component to personal and professional fulfillment - and so many people overcomplicate it.

Most professionals I connect with are focused on all the “shoulds” and “coulds.” But honestly, purpose isn’t about searching harder…it’s about listening closer.

It’s paying attention to what consistently draws you in, what feels effortless even when it’s challenging for others, what you find yourself naturally gravitating towards…

That’s your inner knowing leading the way. 🧭

For a lot of us, the inner knowing is the hardest and scariest to face, but it’s also the knowing that leads to the best destinations - the ones that feel like joy and peace and “this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

And to experience that, all we gotta do is listen when our soul (and soles) talk. 👣🖤

𝗜’𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻…

Throughout my career—from dance to corporate and back to entrepreneurship—each season taught me something different about trusting myself.

As a professional dancer, I loved the artistry and expression, but I struggled a lot with shrinking back and minimizing what I had to offer.

In my corporate career, I loved producing curriculum and programs that helped people from all walks of life advance their careers - but I always felt torn between appreciating the traditional 9-5 and feeling called back to an independent creative career.

Now, as I produce content and events at the intersection of personal and professional development, I’m still learning to trust my own instincts, even if the vision isn’t clear for everyone else yet.

And through all my evolutions, I’ve learned that you can love where you are AND still be called to something more. You just have to listen and trust the inner nudges enough to make it to the other side.

I closed out the month saying yes to new experiences, making new connections, and fostering old ones. 💕

I haven’t spent time in Cali like this in nearly 20 years, and it’s interesting to remember who I was back then and how much I hustled to make my dance dreams come true.

Because this trip was the polar opposite of that. There was so much more ease and gratitude and intention. 🧘🏾‍♀️

As I prepare to enter 45 in the next 40 days or so, I’m grateful for the time I had to remember who I was and to celebrate who I’ve become.

These are all very grown people, but I gotta say it…my babies did it!!! 🫶🏾

Over the past 12 weeks, I’ve had the honor of holding space for 16 Sacramento-based creative entrepreneurs. Since April, I’ve supported them as they worked on their businesses, faced themselves and their fears, and prepared to pitch to their community.

I’m humbled to have been on this journey with them and witness their talent, vision, and calling.

Shout out to @createstartups for the programs they’ve created for creative businesses for the past 18+ years…

And to @cltre_sacramento for the beautiful work they’re doing to support the creatives of Sacramento with programs for their business and life. Such a beautiful community!

For the past 24 hours, it’s just been me and my dad. Yesterday we caught a movie, and today we shared a home cooked meal and more QT.
