A one-of-a-kind week end at @ludiverse_paris where I was fortunate enough to bring home two bronze medals (single miniature and 75mm miniature) and a silver medal (diorama).

Oustanding work by the judges team @studio_super_chroma @wolf_painting_studio @apprendre_la_peinture_sur_fig @bastien.salvador @bap.ric @seb.lavigne 👌🏻 thank you for making this competition a very fun one.

Great to meet with the craziest painters of the capital @clement_painting @chill.minis @zok_paint @solodungeoneering @schoko_glazing @lagalath_miniatures @loki_pique_chestnutink @mementocolori. OUH OUH OUH 🦧 you guys are the best and so inspirational!

Masters 🥈 at @afmmontrouge Historical Models painting competition.

Hearing my name called was a true goosebumps moment.

In such a stacked field, surrounded by incredibly talented painters, this means a lot. I know awards are just small tokens and we shouldn't give them too much importance, but having the work, the hours, the commitment recognised: that hits differently.

What I take from this: perseverance always pays off. There were moments of doubt, between the sheer amount of work these models require, and balancing it all with life (and two kids), every painting session has to count. Staying consistent and motivated is a challenge in itself.

Huge respect to all the painters there, there were so many incredible pieces on display. Truly humbling.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared kind words @solodungeoneering @paintwithskeen @borghild_aetheldreda @stephane_narcy @otatsu.miniatures @thib_azghalin and many more i cant mention them all 🙏

And special mention to the chaotic start of the weekend… with pieces breaking during transport 😅 (field repairs successful).

Even more motivated for what’s next.

Mega.

This weekend was the Paris Wargame Expo, and I was fortunate enough to take home Silver in the Masters Category of the Painting Open.

While the event hosted the largest French 40k tournament (that I didn’t play in; the field is way too competitive for me!), I entered the painting competition and presented my 2025 works for the display.

A massive thank you to the judges @niko_deze, @studio_delavida, @apprendre_la_peinture_sur_fig for managing over a hundred entries and running everything so smoothly. You were absolute heroes throughout the weekend.

I’m incredibly proud to have earned Silver, especially among a field of Golden Demon winners I’ve admired for years. Huge congratulations to Baptiste Richebé for taking Gold and Best in Show — what a well-deserved achievement.

It was a pleasure meeting so many talented painters @bap.ric, @art_ifficiel, @paintwithskeen, @solodungeoneering and many others. Cheers to everyone who stopped by the display area and checked out the models. Your encouragement and kind words meant a lot. Great to meet @warha.dventure as well!

And a special thanks to @keftaminis for convincing me to jump into the Masters category. That advice definitely paid off! Love you man. And thank you @pierre.ribrag for pushing me to higher standards. Keep pushing! (And good luck for GD this year)

More than the award itself, connecting with the painters and being part of this event definitely reboosted me to dive into new projects... Time to get back to the painting desk, inspiration is running high.

First of a series of a mini-busts collection I am painting. They all represent Trompettes of various regiments of Napoleon's Grande Armée. Cavalry trompettes always had the most colourful uniforms, often taking liberties in the colours and accoutrements which makes for really cool painting projects.

All the busts are hand sculpted by the maestro @riccardocerilli.

This one is the 2nd Chasseurs à Cheval of the Kingdom of Italy at the Dresden Camp in 1813. Can you imagine him dashing on his horse in the last great campaign of Napoleon in Saxony?

Hungarians are here! 🎺🥁

Still working on my Austro-Hungarian army for the Danube campaign in 1809. The Empire army had German/Austrian unit and also Hungarians, easily distinguished with their blue pants!

This is the St Julien Regiment, ready to face Beauharnais and Napoleon's Army of Italy!

These are all metal, 28mm, models by @pianowargames

Teodoro Lechi, Brigadier General and Commander of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Italy.

A brilliant Napoleonic commander, brave and charismatic, he led Italian armies across Europe and all the way to the frozen plains of Russia in 1812. After the fall of the Empire, he also took part in the first stages of Italy's struggle for independence from Austria in 1848.

Remembered as a loyal officer, Lechi was deeply devoted to his men and guided by a profound sense of honour. One of the most famous episodes of his life took place in 1814, when Austria took control of Italy following Napoleon's first abdication. Rather than surrendering the regimental Eagles to the Austrians, he burned them with his men and mixed the ashes into their soup. The surviving Eagle that he concealed is still preserved today in the Museo del Risorgimento in Milan.

The model by @piersergioallevi perfectly captures that atmosphere and was an absolute pleasure to paint. It has become one of the pieces I am most proud to display in my cabinet.

The first General of my Austrian Etat Major.

Each Brigade of the army is going to be led by a dedicated General. This one represents Hieronymus Karl von Colloredo-Mansfeld, who led the center at the Battle of Raab in 1809.

This beautiful metal model is produced by @pianowargames.

The Austrian army is still going on, after the German regiments, i will now paint Hungarians!

They are now complete!

3 more members for the Kill Team!

A few kitbashes and conversions. I wanted the Duelist to be more dynamic so I used a Scourge set of legs. And I tilted a bit the body of the Dark Lance Gunner to make it appears that he is firing for a vantage position.

The last 3 very soon!

The name's Blaidd." ⚔️

I finally put the last brush strokes on my Blaidd project.

For those unfamiliar with him, Blaidd is one of the most iconic characters in Elden Ring. As the "shadow" (sworn protector) of the Lunar Princess Ranni, he plays a central role in one of the game's most memorable questlines that can alter the fate of the Lands Between at the end of the game.

Elden Ring is a game I've poured dozens of hours into. Its worldbuilding, lore, atmosphere, visual design, and characters make it one of the most inspiring fantasy settings I've known.

Blaidd stands out in the NPC cast from his first appearance to his tragic and dramatic end.

I wanted to paint him as he appears when we first meet him in Mistwood, perched atop the ruined tower. It's one of the earliest NPC you encounter and marks the beginning of a fabulous journey.

For the backdrop and colour palette, I drew inspiration from @drewtuckerillustration Wuthering Heights illustration for @sorcerytcg. I tried to capture some of the same atmosphere: the deep blue haze, the turquoise shafts of light, and the rich greens of the forest while mimicking the master's brushtrokes.To me, it perfectly echoed the mysterious mood of Mistwood.

The miniature itself was sculpted by @nadye_crysis for @bitethebulletstudio. This was my first experience with their range, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the sculpt. Their Souls Series features a fantastic collection of iconic characters from the genre.

Continuing my 2026 army project: Austrian Empire in 1809.

The Austrian Empire was the major opponent of Napoleon in central Europe. I am recreating a portion of the army that fought against the Army of Italy, led by Napoleon's adopted son Eugene de Beauharnais, before the large battle of Wagram in July 1809.

I recently finished an artillery piece, that was a nice break from infantry regiments.

Models are @pianowargames, in metal.

Kill Team - Hand of the Archon!

My Warhammer sidekick managed to drive me away from Napoleonics to paint a Kill Team to play with the group. To be honest, he didn't have to convince me much: i already had some models built for the Hand of the Archon that were desperately asking for a paintjob!

So here are the first 3 members: Archsybarite Khepres "Neverbreath", Disciple of Yaelindra Uless "Of Few Mercies" and Flayer Quvelich "The Apotheosor".

Had tons of the fun painting these first 3 guys. It made me remember just how much I like Dark Eldar (@skyserpent40k must be proud!). The Disciple of Yaelindra has to be my favourite for the moment, I love the grenade and her role in the gang.

More to come!
