Fun jaunt to the home coast type shi - feat. brother Jaten @teddyswims , @goldendoodgoose, his city boy piss swag, saltwater waves, Padres game, much needed family time, and crisp air. Oh, and two bandits caught on camera breaking into the studio portion of my house while I was gone. by @iamwillgarrett

2026 is 2016 Type shi

A lot of firsts. A lot of lasts.

First time on a G550, so naturally, that led to the first time I met @iamstevent (ask me about that, hah). That led me to start recording my first solo record, which led me to play some of those records live (thanks @iamrosscoppley ). It was the first time playing in front of billionaires, so I chose a f*ucking @rascalflatts song - so high. Thanks @garylevox, haha… which led to more fun jet things. Including rehearsing on one, sleeping on another - all for the first time. We then put together a label deal as a co-venture for the first time. Thank God I didn’t follow through with that (another story to ask me about).

Because I didn’t jump right into a deal, I was able to settle after year 1 in Nash, and happened to meet @secondhandjohn on a random Wednesday at Bar Louie. I was there for half-priced apps, he was there to order 13 Jameson shots for friends. There was an extra, he offered, I took it, and we became best friends. Literally a week later I showed up to his apartment in my bus, and drove us all (including @veronicabal ) to Cullowhee, NC. Another first - playing on stage with him for Secondhand Serenade. Man, we drove that f*cking bus everywhere.

Anywhoodle, after diving into making Nashville home, writing and producing records for other artists, recording a ton of songs, I was invited to the CMA’s for, you guessed it, the first time. I ended up at @johnrichofficial house (later, finding myself there a lot, haha. That’s about the time I learned about tequila. And tequila made me want tacos. And everyone knows the best tacos are in Mexico / SoCal. During a photo shoot in SoCal (for music that was never released), I fell in love with late 60s / early 70’s F100s. I love anything with a motor, which is why it’s sad 2016 was the last time I rode my KZ650. Also a last for other things - The last time I heard my friend Nolan Neal sing live, the last time I took Mom to a concert, and the last time I drove my ‘66 coupe.

Without 2016, our trajectory wouldn’t be totally different. And if you’re reading this still, holy sh*t, I’m sorry. I just started rambling. 👀

Cheers to 2026, y’all. by @iamwillgarrett
