In 1985 Clint Bestwood and The Mescal Marauders began a career of playing juke box covers culled from the pubs of Nottingham. Punk renegades with a fondness for Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers and Tammy Wynette they enjoyed bringing Country to the City. I loved being in this band and am happy that we are together again to play this gig. We were the first band to play The Chapel at The Old Angel for Tony Brack @onebcclothing. Join us if you can, we’re rehearsing and everything. £5.00 on the door. Cash is King. taken in The Old Angel, Nottingham by @iancutmore

Some drawings from this mornings session at The Nottingham Society Of Artists’ studio. A number of short poses created by the model, Julie. It was interesting to work intuitively with colour. I used a palette created from found pencils & pastels on ‘borrowed’ paper. #found palette #loaned substrate #nottinghamsocietyofartists taken in Nottingham Society of Artists by @iancutmore

An unintended recording of Arooj Aftab and The London Contemporary Orchestra, who performed at The Nottingham Royal Concert Hall last night. Beautiful. Daudi Matsiko was an excellent support act. #aroojaftab #londoncontemporaryorchestra #daudimatsiko #nottinghamroyalconcerthall by @iancutmore

Early Sunday morning in Nottingham, on my way to Friar Lane. A look round the gallery of the artists’ studio work and our shared drawings from our life drawing sessions. Bob Sparham’s decision to bring together these different sides of each artist, created a strong exhibition, popular with visitors. #nottinghamsocietyofartists #life drawing #studiopractice #painting by @iancutmore

I’m pleased to be exhibiting some of my life drawings, which I’ve made over the past couple of years alongside other members of Nottingham Society of Artists. Additionally I’ll be exhibiting some recent studio work made at #backlitgallery. The exhibition looks at the relationship between the two areas of practice, it’s called, Life Drawings Plus.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday 17th March until Sunday 22nd March from 10.30am - 4.30pm.
I’ll be invigilating Tuesday afternoon, Friday morning and all day Sunday, so please drop in if you can.
