Central Indiana’s longest running Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/Mixed Martial Arts Academy. Ask about our 30-Day Free Trial!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Starting Jiu-Jitsu can feel intimidating, but here's the thing...

EVERYONE is nervous in the beginning!

People worry about meeting new people, worry about feeling stupid, worry they aren't in good enough shape or that the environment will be too aggressive.

But when you start your 30-Day Trial, you'll quickly see that this is a super chill environment... full of positive and supportive teammates who will help you learn and succeed. We ALL remember what it's like to be a beginner, so everyone is stoked to help you learn!

And IBJJA makes the first step EASY!

Every new student begins their Free Trial with an introductory lesson. A coach will show you around, answer any questions you have, and teach you practical Self-Defense techniques. In fact, you will learn more about Self-Defense in that first class than most people learn their entire LIFE!

After that lesson, you're ready for the group classes. You'll know what's going on and your new teammates will help you along the way.

The catch? Well, there IS no catch!

There's no obligation, and we don't collect any payment information for you to start. It really IS a FREE Trial.

IBJJA is an ACADEMY. This is a place of LEARNING, and helping new students is what we do BEST!

The only thing you need to start is the willingness to be a student. That's it.

And this just might be the best decision you've ever made for yourself.

Why Jiu-Jitsu for Kids?

Why not Kickboxing or Tae Kwon Do or Karate?

While any physical activity is better than nothing, Jiu-Jitsu is the BEST for self-defense.

Why?

Because in Jiu-Jitsu, we learn how to CONTROL our opponent. If your child is attacked by a bully, you want them to have the skills to CONTROL the situation, not escalate it.

But more importantly, when kids learn Jiu-Jitsu, they naturally develop essential life skills like confidence, discipline, perseverance, grit, and work ethic.

The best part? It's FUN! Kids LOVE Jiu-Jitsu!

Can you imagine if your child fell in love with an activity that will make them a better adult?

At IBJJA, our Kids' Program is constantly growing and expanding. We provide a safe and structured environment for kids to learn, guided by top-notch instructors dedicated to their success.

Team JC wins the inaugural FUJI World Team Championship! This one belongs to every affiliate under the Team James Clingerman banner.

Huge thank you to every competitor who stepped on the mats and every coach who took the time to prepare them, corner them, and push them.

Being the first name in the record books means a lot. Proud doesn't even begin to cover it. Thank you all so much!

Yesterday, Mat to Mission at @ibjja brought officers and the community together on the mats to show why jiu jitsu is such an important skill in law enforcement—building confidence & control while remaining poised under pressure.

It was an incredible way to kick off Join IMPD Week and set the tone for the events ahead this week.

RECAP OF DEAN “THE BOOGEYMAN” LISTER SEMINAR AT IBJJA

We had the opportunity to welcome 3X ADCC World Champion and ADCC Hall of Famer Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister to Indiana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy for an incredible No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar.

Dean Lister is one of the pioneers who helped change the way the Jiu-Jitsu world looks at leg locks and submission grappling, and getting to learn directly from him on our mats was an experience we won’t forget.

A huge thank you to Dean Lister for making the trip to Indiana and sharing his knowledge with us, and to everyone from IBJJA, Team James Clingerman, and the surrounding BJJ community who came out and made this seminar such a great one.

This is what we love about Jiu-Jitsu — there is always another level to learn.
