Performex is also working on hosting a special Open Mat & Seminar to bring gyms, coaches, fighters, and supporters from across Indiana together to raise money for the family. More details will be announced soon.

At this time, we respectfully ask everyone to give Kat and the family the privacy and space they need as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

The martial arts community is more than competition. We are a family, and now is the time to come together and support one of our own.

Rest easy, Enoch. You will always be part of the Performex family.

Yesterday, Mat to Mission at @ibjja brought officers and the community together on the mats to show why jiu jitsu is such an important skill in law enforcement—building confidence & control while remaining poised under pressure.

It was an incredible way to kick off Join IMPD Week and set the tone for the events ahead this week.

BJJ was something I never knew I needed, and honestly, I never thought it would become as important to me as it has.

I came into this sport broken and at a really low point, carrying things I didn’t always know how to deal with. But somewhere along the way, BJJ started lifting me back up.

It taught me that no matter how bad a position feels, there’s usually an escape. And if there isn’t an escape, there’s a counter. Sometimes you just have to stay calm, keep fighting, and find another way.

The people I met along the way became more than just training partners or friends. They became family. The gym became a safe space where I could leave everything at the door, let loose, and just be myself. It became an outlet when I needed one most.

And my coaches each left me with something that I’ll carry far beyond the mats.

James taught me how to escape a situation — and somehow look fancy while doing it.

Darrel taught me that sometimes you have to get a little dirty to get where you need to go.

Fabio taught me how important it is to stay calm when the pressure is on.

Lionel taught me to accept the reality of the situation in front of me, keep moving forward, and never quit.

BJJ gave me more than techniques, submissions, and battles on the mats. It taught me lessons about life when I needed them most.

I came here looking for a way to fight through what I was going through. I’m leaving with a stronger mind, a stronger heart, and people I’ll never forget.

I’ll always be grateful for this place and everyone who played a part in helping me become who I am today.
