Big things happened at TOICE 2025 where Nigeria’s travel voices met in Lagos under the theme “The Value of Collaboration: Transforming African Tourism through Strategic Partnerships.”

With cultural, tourism and hospitality heavyweights in attendance and conversations focused on boosting Nigeria’s tourism from partnerships to travel tech to hotel partnerships, this event packed purpose and trajectory changing conversations.

Happening under the leadership of Ibrahim Makanjuola Adebusoye MD @getittometravels , the convener of TOICE, this gathering aimed to reshape how Africa’s travel future is built.

Having a dream with no one to support it can make things slow as never. It will come to pass but not fast as it should be.

It was more like a joke when we started this project called EASTER IN IDERE HILLS with team of @nigeriatourismlovers . It looks impossible but we conquered our fear and out run then brought it to lime light. All thanks to all that supported the dream because without them it would have be more stressful. To all sponsors and media partners I say God bless you. Special thanks to @tojumhospitalityltd he sincerely made it possible.

It looks like it is finished but IT JUST STARTED, now time to see how we can make Idere hills a top notch destination in terms of tourist influx and the positive impact that will have on the community.

Once again thanks so much and I know nothing is possible because I have God and you. ONE DESTINATION AT A TIME.

How I made my own INJERA in Ethiopia. This is a normal food they eat at anytime of the day. They only add other food to it.

It is very nutritious because it is 80-90% made from a plant called teff and a little flour.

I was made to understand that it is part of their culture to feed the person closer to you when eating. Like a grown up male can feed his friend who is also grown up male beside him. Also you don’t buy food for yourself alone, you get to a food canteen or a restaurant and you can order food for 2 people then look out and see someone walking nearby. You can call the person to join you and you both have a lovely meal.

It was a wonderful experience in Ethiopia and I urge to experience this. We will be going back there soon so join @getittometravels and you will experience this wonderful country.

Truly, African tourism is big enough to sustain Africans and create immense opportunities across the continent. However, challenges such as poor governance, inadequate funding, limited infrastructure, and the lack of easy movement and access for Africans within Africa continue to hold us back. These challenges are real, but with proper planning, strategic collaboration, investment, and preparedness, we can achieve so much more.

The same challenges we face in Africa are also surrounded by incredible opportunities. Our stories, cultures, traditions, heritage, people, and natural attractions are resources the world is increasingly interested in. Africa has the potential to become one of the world’s most exciting and fastest-growing tourism destinations, but how we position, package, promote, and develop what we have will play a major role in making that vision a reality.

As a member of the Rotary Club of Globetrotters, and I attended my part 1 of the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) training and it was much more than just another training.

RLI is designed to deepen your knowledge and understanding of Rotary who we are, what we stand for, and what is expected of us as Rotarians.

We learned about the dos and don’ts of Rotary, Rotary’s standards and values, public image, how to conduct ourselves in public, integrity, leadership, and the different areas of Rotary’s work.

It was a refreshing opportunity to learn, unlearn and understand Rotary beyond simply being a member.

Because being a Rotarian is not just about wearing the badge ,it is about understanding the responsibility that comes with it, representing Rotary with integrity, and living the values we claim to serve.

RLI gave us knowledge. Now, it is our responsibility to put that knowledge into action and expand our knowledge with other available means of knowledge about rotary in our Districts
